| Crayons | posted 30-Dec-2008 12:31am Yes. I don't think I've touched a phone cord in a loooong time. |
| Crayons | (reply to Crayons) posted 30-Dec-2008 12:31am Hey, why do they always have to be curly? |
| LindaH | posted 30-Dec-2008 1:31am Yes.
Did you know that if you live next door to someone whose phone is being monitored, and who is on an ankle bracelet and has certain people they aren't allowed to call, you can meet at the property line and let them use your phone? They don't leave their zone, and your phone still works out there. Heh heh. (I guess a cell phone would work too) Well now you know. |
| smurf | posted 30-Dec-2008 2:21am We do now. We had a cheap cord phone for quite a while, but received a free cordless for committing to our telephone provider for 2 years. Good move! |
| bill | posted 30-Dec-2008 7:02am sort of... really, it's my wife's office phone, but should would let me use it, if I needed to |
| mrmarm | posted 30-Dec-2008 7:12am Yes, this is weird........ |
| Matty | posted 30-Dec-2008 7:42am I think it would be harder to get a phone with a cord. |
| cloudhugger | posted 30-Dec-2008 8:04am I'd be more interested in how many have a corded phone. Yes, I have a land line and a cordless phone. |
| Cain | posted 30-Dec-2008 8:40am No. I'd like to have a cordless phone, but I have to be able to transfer calls through to other parts of the building and I've yet to find a reasonably priced cordless phone that does that. |
| LJD | posted 30-Dec-2008 8:58am Yes...unfortunately. |
| Enheduanna | posted 30-Dec-2008 11:10am Yes, although the battery is pretty much dead so the phone is useless. We basically use the land line as an answering machine to deal with robocalls. The ringer is turned off and the outgoing message tells people to call us on our cell phones. Maybe once or twice a year we actually get a real/important call on that line. I want to get rid of it, but my SO still thinks it's a good idea to keep it just in case. Which is funny because a few years ago our opinions on it were reversed. Hopefully we'll both agree to get rid of it soon. It's a waste of $20 a month. |
| Galomorro | posted 30-Dec-2008 11:57am I do not have a land line or any other kind of phone. |
| Maarten | posted 30-Dec-2008 12:00pm No land line anymore since 2000. |
| cerealkiller | posted 30-Dec-2008 1:28pm No. My wife says they fry your brain. We don't use the landline at all except for my DSL service and the satellite tv service. We have a $6 Wal-Mart phone plugged into the kitchen jack. We use cell phones for all calls. |
| LindaH | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 30-Dec-2008 1:31pm A cordless phone will fry your brain but a cell phone won't? |
| cerealkiller | (reply to LindaH) posted 30-Dec-2008 1:52pm Yeah, I know. Kinda mixed up thinking. Cordless phones suck since the batteries always seem to be low, and they don't work at all if the power goes out. We don't even give out our phone number since we never use it and it hasn't rung once since we moved. |
| Irene007 | posted 30-Dec-2008 2:04pm Yes and 2 with cords |
| LindaH | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 30-Dec-2008 2:10pm We just leave ours in the chargers.
If I get multiple nuisance calls from the same number, I just put the number on selective call rejection. It's much quieter around here since I started doing that. |
| cerealkiller | (reply to LindaH) posted 30-Dec-2008 2:11pm I do that with my cell phone. I add all the bill collectors to the reject list so I just get voicemails without the ringing first. |
| Iseult | posted 30-Dec-2008 2:53pm I don't have a land line. |
| jettles | posted 30-Dec-2008 6:32pm yes and i have an older wall phone for the times when there is a storm blackout here in florida! |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 30-Dec-2008 7:55pm Yes yes i do have a cordless phone for my landmine telephone |
| they | posted 30-Dec-2008 9:11pm Yes, I have one with a cord and one without.
Mary just got a new one for her room. After it's hooked up, we'll have two phones with cords. |
| Joanne | posted 30-Dec-2008 11:42pm Yes. I didn't know they came with cords anymore. |
| CarolL | posted 31-Dec-2008 12:11am Hell yeah! |
