| Enheduanna | posted 12-Dec-2008 10:40am Where do you live, and what are the native trees there? I'd advocate planting a native species that you know will grow well there. |
| Galomorro | posted 12-Dec-2008 11:03am Don't know. If it were me (and I had a driveway), I'd plant various dwarf citrus and other small edible-fruit trees along the driveway, like lemon, orange, dwarf peach - but if you live in a cold climate that might not work for you. |

We had two growing up in my front lawn, I miss them still.. :) Happy planting- whatever u decide all trees are perfect and I'm sure it will be the right choice! |

| they | posted 14-Dec-2008 1:19am Apple trees are beautiful and your neighborhood wildlife will enjoy the fruit.
I really like any flowering trees. Dogwood, Cherry, etc. I also like willows and trees that provide nuts/fruit for birds and squirrels. I've always wanted a buckeye tree. |

| LJD | posted 14-Dec-2008 4:01pm Planting the tree is imperative. Look for low root growth trees. |
| Matty | (reply to llamamama) posted 15-Dec-2008 7:31am They're really pretty in the Spring. |
| Jody | posted 15-Dec-2008 12:07pm Not oaks. They shed lots of big leaves, and the acorns are really hard to rake up. |
| cerealkiller | posted 15-Dec-2008 1:55pm Like I said in Qual - geographic location and other factors come into play when planting trees. Poplar trees are horrible landscaping trees. They have very invasive roots and will tear up your sidewalks, driveways and even travel under your house foundation. |
| judgescratch | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 15-Dec-2008 4:50pm I agree. I think that poplars are cosidered the grot of trees to have in your yard. We trimmed all of the annoying bottom branches, so the top branches 'blossomed' out, which makes them pretty, but they're still poplars.
And yeah, I should've put that I live in Mid-Atlantic US. |
| LindaH | posted 15-Dec-2008 6:55pm I don't know.
I can hardly wait for spring. |

| Enigma | posted 20-Dec-2008 5:24pm This is a loaded question that being the tree lover that I am I just can't answer without more information. What tree(s) are next to it? Is there a garden nearby? How far is it from the road? What kind of canopy span will it be allowed?
Impossible for me to answer! IMPOSSIBLE I SAY! |
| LizELECTRIC | posted 19-Jan-2009 4:06am A willow tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are sooo pretty! |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 19-Jan-2009 9:11pm Maple trees you should plant |
| Biggles | posted 8-Feb-2009 5:29pm Silver birch, eucalyptus or chestnut, depending how much space you have. |
