| Frostbrand | posted 12-Dec-2008 12:18am Molly for a girl, Bob for a boy. In an age where weird names are becoming the norm, soon normal names will become unique. Just sayin'. |

| gambler | posted 12-Dec-2008 6:51am well, I hate stupid names ............ so Jonah & Molly are both very nice |
| Matty | posted 12-Dec-2008 8:14am I like Jonah and Ella |
| Enheduanna | posted 12-Dec-2008 9:10am You named your first child Other?!
Of these, I like Ella best for a girl. I'm not hugely fond of alliterative names, so although I like the name Jonah, I don't like Jonah Jamerson (sounds too much like Jenna Jamison). Plus, you've already got one child named after a biblical character who had some experiences with a boat and a storm; do you really need another? I don't like any of the boys' names you listed. What about Daniel? Isaac? Matthew? I think those are good names. |

| heyzeus1 | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 12-Dec-2008 9:23am yeah, ill have to get around to reading that bible one of these days
i should buy one for noah so he can read about his namesake. i think we had one in the house once, and my daughter cheyenne was living with us at the time, i think she was 8 years old. anyway she picked it up intending to read it front to back like a normal book. somehow she had the patience to get all the way through genesis. then brought the book to me and said 'I don't believe it.' what was jonah's story? something about a whale? i just like the sound of the name and it would be jonah jude probably. |
| heyzeus1 | (reply to bill) posted 12-Dec-2008 9:24am did you make a wish? |
| bill | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 12-Dec-2008 9:48am you'll wish you never saw the Monkey Claw! |
| TeddyMiller | posted 12-Dec-2008 10:07am Jonah Jamerson sounds too much like J. Jonah Jameson, the newspaper publisher in Marvel comics who hates Spider-Man. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 12-Dec-2008 10:37am Yeah, Jonah starts out on a boat, but there's a storm and he ends up inside a big fish.
Most people don't make it too far into Genesis; there are a couple chapters of "begats" right near the beginning that deter people. But there are some good stories after that. It's an interesting book, worth reading if for no other reason than to understand a whole lot of literary references elsewhere. You don't have to believe it (I don't) in order to see its relevance. |

| heyzeus1 | (reply to smurf) posted 29-Dec-2008 10:03pm ah, yeah, a summer baby it will be.
we are in the us. is a summer baby good? |
| smurf | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 30-Dec-2008 2:19am I suppose so -- this is our first baby so I don't really know about these things. Carrying a baby through the summer is really hot for Mum tho, I'm lucky this one is due before the real heat kicks in in late Jan/Feb. And heating the house for a newborn shouldn't be too much of a problem either |

no name picked out tho i like thomas and so does our son noah. julie likes jonah or jude. so what about youuuu i've known you for years even though i dissappear for years at a time. no baby yet for you? secretly, i love the name iseult spelled (ysault), and would have loved that for a girl but i never mentioned that to julie. |
| Iseult | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 26-Jun-2009 1:45pm I like the name Thomas, too, but you realize he'll always be Tom or even Tommy.
I'm 22, so no kids for me for a while. I'm thinking not before 30. Iseult, or Ysault for that matter, is a beautiful name (well, I mean, I wouldn't've picked it otherwise). I could see myself naming my daughter that. Where have you been? |
