| LindaH | posted 24-Nov-2008 4:32pm Not quite as dramatic as those, but one time I was standing under a low ceiling, waiting for someone to unlock a door. Bored, I wandered across the hall to wait. As soon as I got out from under the low ceiling doorway area, the light that had been above my head exploded, sending glass fragments everywhere. Whew, that was a close one. Someone who saw it asked if I was psychic. |
| Iseult | posted 24-Nov-2008 5:29pm My internet sucks - it takes five minutes to stream a 30 sec video. |

| Irene007 | posted 24-Nov-2008 10:51pm Wow! Cool clips! That bank robbery was just too funny! I don't recall anything like that happening to me but I'm sure I caused some guy to say that it did to him... I love and hate my car, the posts between the windows often hide things from me because they're so wide. The visibility offered is not as good as in other cars and to boot, the windows are tinted illegally dark. I was going to turn left on a street in an industrial area where there are no people, usually - just trucks, and when I saw that it was clear for me to turn; I pressed on the gas pedal to move quickly before the car on the right got too close. While I was watching this car coming, some guy came out of nowhere on my left and I nearly ran him down. I swerved just in time but I know he felt the air displacement as I drove by. I could see in my mirror that he just stood there in disbelief! I just didn't see him there and yet he was so close. It's a major flaw in the design of this car.... |
| Irene007 | posted 24-Nov-2008 10:55pm Ok, after reading Linda's post, it reminded me of a thunder storm we were having while I was a my friend's place. He lived on the 7th floor of this apartment building and I was headed to the convenience store in the lobby. As the elevator doors opened; I got this uneasy feeling and didn't go in. Instead, I turned back and headed to the apartment, just then, a loud clap of thunder was heard and the electricity went out. I would have been stuck in the elevator... |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 24-Nov-2008 11:57pm No luck for me |
| Joanne | posted 25-Nov-2008 2:09am A big wind blew a couple of outdoor aluminum roof panels just as I was bending over to pick something up. The panels left a deep gouge in a wooden fence. If I'd been standing, I could have been decapitated. That's my only lucky escape where I nearly wet my pants. There have been other times, but a lot drier. |
| gambler | posted 25-Nov-2008 8:30am Kind of........... about 18 years ago. I was a passenger in a Porsche 911 Turbo, going around a bend and the driver lost control and we slid sideways into a tree, the car tore in half (I was luckily not wearing a seatbelt) and was thrown clear of the wreckage, even though I broke my ankle, shoulder in two places, ribs and was in Hospital for four weeks....... I was lucky as had I been wearing the seatbelt I would have probably have lost both legs, when you viewed the wreckage, where I was seated the side of the car was crushed to the transmission tunnel, where my legs would have been |
| Matty | posted 25-Nov-2008 8:50am Not like that, not that I can recall. |
| cloudhugger | posted 25-Nov-2008 6:43pm Awesome video!
Sort of. There was a guy screeming donuts right around me and my friend at the woods. It was quite exciting. Not a near miss, just cool. |
| cloudhugger | posted 25-Nov-2008 6:45pm Just remembered....I have had many near misses, but not near as dramatic. Not hollywood style like those. |
| wwsd | posted 25-Nov-2008 7:36pm Those were some lucky people.. I'm not sure I've ever been that lucky. |

| LindaH | posted 27-Nov-2008 2:44pm I just remembered. A couple of years ago, some idiot was shooting some fire-powered rocket thing up in the air at the school yard, and it came down right next to me and Lexie. What a freakin moron. |
| docgbrown | posted 30-Nov-2008 2:52am Yes; I jumped off a cliff and caught the new foam of a splashing wave instead of the jagged cliff base that jutted out to the south china sea |
| FauxLo | posted 6-Jan-2009 2:47pm Not even close. |
