How do you feel about kickball becoming an adult sport with leagues, teams, and championships?

I'm doing a survey for a journalism class about kickball and need some feedback on whether people would be interested in seeing kickball become a real "sport" or not. Thanks for your answers!

Those are the people that did not suffer school yard humiliation of some sort. Let them have that, some of us cannot revisit the horrors of what happened in the schoolyard.

I like the idea, but only if I could play in a diaper.

Neutral. I don't care either way, not being into sports at all.

Need more info. I'm assuming this would be an adult league kind of thing. That could be fun. However, taken too seriously (with championships and such) is over the top.

Maybe it's a game I can understand more. I don't know anything about football. What's the difference between soccer and kick ball?

Kick ball is not at all like soccer. It's more like softball or baseball except the pitcher rolls a red rubber ball along the ground and the "batter" kicks it before running the bases. The runner can be tagged out by being hit by a thrown ball as well as all the other usual ways of getting out from baseball or softball.

I enjoy kickball. I always would get out though. I kick too high. Of course I haven't played in something like atleast 7 years..wow, it could have been 7 years since I've done something!

NO KIDDING! Never knew it! Nothing would surprise me any more. Kickball sounds interesting. Someone would have to have a pretty strong "kick" strong legs to play this game.

It was pretty standard fare in gym class when I was growing up. I'm surprised you managed to never hear of it.

I think it would be great. It's a great sport for people who fear getting hit in the eye.

I doubt I'd be too interested in something like that. It might be a fun activity to do on a small scale, but it wouldn't be something too many people would care to watch others play. Well, at least I wouldn't.

My sons never mentioned it while they were in school...of course, they've been out of school for many years. I'll assume the players have to wear special shoes.

No special shoes, just sneakers.

I can't imagine, I'd stub my toe on the first kick. How many people are on a team? Of course, the rules aren't the same, as I'd think the runner would really have a disadvantage because the ball couldn't go as far.

Other: what is "kickball"?

I'm not entirely sure but I think it's the same as baseball: pitcher, catcher, 1st, 2nd, shortstop, 3rd, 3 in the outfield for a total of ... 9. Kickball tends to be fairly informal in my experience, so you just manage with whatever you have.

If this is the case, I doubt kickball could ever become a professional sport.

I don't know what kickball is. I'd call soccer kickball (unless I was with soccer fans - I'm not THAT stupid).
