| cloudhugger | posted 5-Nov-2008 9:26am Those are the people that did not suffer school yard humiliation of some sort. Let them have that, some of us cannot revisit the horrors of what happened in the schoolyard. |
| Matty | posted 5-Nov-2008 9:53am I like the idea, but only if I could play in a diaper. |
| Enheduanna | posted 5-Nov-2008 10:03am Don't care. |
| bill | posted 5-Nov-2008 10:52am It makes me feel all tingly inside. |
| Galomorro | posted 5-Nov-2008 11:05am Neutral. I don't care either way, not being into sports at all. |
| kirst | posted 5-Nov-2008 11:34am Need more info. I'm assuming this would be an adult league kind of thing. That could be fun. However, taken too seriously (with championships and such) is over the top. |
| LJD | posted 5-Nov-2008 12:02pm Maybe it's a game I can understand more. I don't know anything about football. What's the difference between soccer and kick ball? |
| FauxLo | posted 5-Nov-2008 1:15pm Dumb. |
| dab | (reply to LJD) posted 5-Nov-2008 3:39pm Kick ball is not at all like soccer. It's more like softball or baseball except the pitcher rolls a red rubber ball along the ground and the "batter" kicks it before running the bases. The runner can be tagged out by being hit by a thrown ball as well as all the other usual ways of getting out from baseball or softball. |
| Iseult | posted 5-Nov-2008 4:21pm I don't care. |
| llamamama | posted 5-Nov-2008 5:32pm I enjoy kickball. I always would get out though. I kick too high. Of course I haven't played in something like atleast 7 years..wow, it could have been 7 years since I've done something! |
| LJD | (reply to dab) posted 5-Nov-2008 7:36pm NO KIDDING! Never knew it! Nothing would surprise me any more. Kickball sounds interesting. Someone would have to have a pretty strong "kick" strong legs to play this game. |
| dab | (reply to LJD) posted 5-Nov-2008 8:27pm It was pretty standard fare in gym class when I was growing up. I'm surprised you managed to never hear of it. |
| LindaH | posted 5-Nov-2008 10:03pm I think it would be great. It's a great sport for people who fear getting hit in the eye. |
| southernyankee | posted 6-Nov-2008 12:15am I doubt I'd be too interested in something like that. It might be a fun activity to do on a small scale, but it wouldn't be something too many people would care to watch others play. Well, at least I wouldn't. |
| LJD | (reply to dab) posted 6-Nov-2008 1:21pm My sons never mentioned it while they were in school...of course, they've been out of school for many years. I'll assume the players have to wear special shoes. |
| dab | (reply to LJD) posted 6-Nov-2008 5:02pm No special shoes, just sneakers. |
| LJD | (reply to dab) posted 6-Nov-2008 9:28pm I can't imagine, I'd stub my toe on the first kick. How many people are on a team? Of course, the rules aren't the same, as I'd think the runner would really have a disadvantage because the ball couldn't go as far. |
| cerealkiller | posted 7-Nov-2008 3:33pm Other: what is "kickball"? |
| dab | (reply to LJD) posted 7-Nov-2008 8:55pm I'm not entirely sure but I think it's the same as baseball: pitcher, catcher, 1st, 2nd, shortstop, 3rd, 3 in the outfield for a total of ... 9. Kickball tends to be fairly informal in my experience, so you just manage with whatever you have. |
| LJD | (reply to dab) posted 7-Nov-2008 9:24pm If this is the case, I doubt kickball could ever become a professional sport. |
| Otter | posted 8-Nov-2008 8:44am To express an opinion would indicate one gives a crap |
| Joanne | posted 8-Nov-2008 2:40pm I don't know what kickball is. I'd call soccer kickball (unless I was with soccer fans - I'm not THAT stupid). |
| they | posted 10-Nov-2008 8:39am I would request the number 3 on my jersey. |
| Pomeranian | posted 13-Nov-2008 11:42pm Sounds fun. |
| Pomeranian | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 13-Nov-2008 11:42pm Just keep a kickball in your bag! |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Pomeranian) posted 14-Nov-2008 7:58am Kickball is for weeshtas. |
| Biggles | posted 1-Feb-2009 4:34pm I don't even know what kickball is. |
| Biggles | posted 1-Feb-2009 4:35pm Aaah, football rounders.... |
