They make me feel small. Like they're intruding on my territory. Like they're trying to take away my alpha-female status, godammit. |

It doesn't really happen to me as much as you'd think..Most girls are my height or a little taller or a little shorter. So it's not enough where you have to crane your neck up or look way down. There is one exception that I can think of though where the girl is 5'11''..doesn't make me feel too weird. |

I couldn't care less. I'm short but don't care. |

Mostly, only the giantesses are taller. And they make me feel good |

It's hard to say. I suppose I am subtly intimidated. I've read via various psychology books that height makes a big difference when it comes to pecking order. For example, most lawyers know that the tallest male on a jury is likely to be the leader.
For a woman, I wonder if it affects/limits who you date. I assume there's a fair bit of resistance to date a man who is shorter than you. I assume it would be hard for you to respect him and hard for him to cope with it, given social norms/expectations of male dominance. |

It depends. Is she taller than me and also a dog? Then she makes me feel unhappy. If she's taller than me and nice, it makes me feel good. I have no reaction to a person based on their height. I guess if they were majorly short or majorly tall, then I might notice it, but it wouldn't have any effect on how I felt about the person. |

I'm tall, 6'4". Mostly I feel bad for them as it seems like I'm right at the limit of what people design for normally. It must be difficult being even taller than that. |

I'm 6'3'',and I've only met a woman taller than me once - she was 6'7'', a lady from Sweden, she was a proper Viking! Huge and beautiful with blond hair down to her waist.

I like it. I feel weird and awkward and gangly when the person next to me is shorter, sometimes. |

Unless the other guy is "stealing" away some woman from me who gets an advantage from being taller, I most likely wouldn't care. |

I prefer it to seeing someone of the opposite sex shorter than myself. |

I am slightly taller than the national average. But where I live, the average is even shorter. So I like to see women who are taller than I am (67 inches/170 cm). |

It makes me feel normal.
Usually, I'm the big girl because I'm 5'9". I dwarf most women. |

I've only encountered a couple people taller than myself, and when I do it makes me feel really wierd. That may be only because it's so rare fo me. They could be painted green and I'd probably feel the same way. Maybe not though. It has an imposing feel to it, like meeting some sort of god or space-alien. Still though, I can't imagine short people live with that sensation on a regular basis. |

It's looking to me like SC members are taller than average. That might have some bearing on their fitting in here.
Anyways, one day a person approached me with their views on tall people, which made sense to me. He suggested tall people could not escape being watched, and therefore were pressured to fit the mold of high conduct. As far as leaders go, as those lawyers noticed, again it may be that there are expectations of leadership placed upon tall persons which they grow to fulfill. In grade school I spent a lot of time discussing things in private with my teachers. It hadn't occurred to me till now that height may have been a factor in that, but I'm sure such discussions had a bearing on the sort of adult I would become. Pure physics may nurture early maturity in some persons. |

I seem taller on the Internet than I really am. |

I am 6'3" without shoes, so this doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's disconcerting. |

Maybe, except for that pumpkin president avatar. That makes it even creepier, tall person disguised as pumpkin. |

indifferent. Most people are at least my height or up to 3" taller so this is normal. I'm 5'-11" tall. It feels stranger to me talking to another male who is much smaller, like a guy at work who must be only 5'-4". |
