| they | posted 1-Oct-2008 8:52am I already work out of my home. My employer provides my equipment, internet connection, and telephone line. |
| bill | posted 1-Oct-2008 9:47am I'm all for more people working at home. |
| RainingFeathers | posted 1-Oct-2008 11:24am Yes, but that wouldn't really work for my job. |
| Galomorro | posted 1-Oct-2008 11:31am Back when I did work, this was my dream, to work at home, or closer. Every employment agency I went to said they didn't ever have this kind of thing - that one had to arrange it with their employer after they had been there a while. |
| Melf | posted 1-Oct-2008 11:49am I'm a student. |
| gambler | posted 1-Oct-2008 12:59pm I guess its good.......... but it would be impossible with the job I have now |
| Jody | posted 1-Oct-2008 1:05pm With kids at home, it's hard for me to actually get work done there. Maybe in the future, though. My company supports employees in my organization working 1-2 days at home per week. |
| cerealkiller | posted 1-Oct-2008 2:57pm Already do this. I work at home an average of 2-3 days a week. All of my work is stored on my 8 gig USB stick so I can work anywhere. All I gotta do is get out of bed, walk over to the computer and I'm at work.
The positive aspects are not commuting 53 miles each way on those days, saving $20 a day in gas and the freedom to do other things around the house since I'm never totally busy at work for an entire day. The negative aspects are being interrupted by my wife talking and the cats wanting to sit on my lap and help type. |
| Joanne | posted 1-Oct-2008 4:31pm Already do. Wouldn't work otherwise. |
| Cain | posted 1-Oct-2008 4:51pm I am self-employed - and I kind of already do. It has it's bonuses, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to split my work life from my personal life. |
| romkey | posted 1-Oct-2008 6:33pm I work for myself, at home, at the gym, wherever... I don't really want to have a separate office to go to. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 2-Oct-2008 12:43am I am doing this already right at home |
| cloudhugger | posted 2-Oct-2008 8:32am Single pick confuses me...

| moviesnob | posted 2-Oct-2008 10:57am I would love this. Many members of my team already work from home for various reasons. |
| LindaH | posted 2-Oct-2008 12:22pm I would like a job. |
| Enheduanna | posted 2-Oct-2008 2:08pm As long as I show up in the right classrooms to teach (most of the time, at least), no one much cares where I work the rest of the time. Academia is a total racket. |
| llamamama | posted 3-Oct-2008 9:38pm I don't think I'd get anything done. |
| jettles | posted 5-Oct-2008 8:25am couldn't do it, i work in a hospital and actually have to see my patients throughout the day so i couldn't perform many tasks from home. |
| LJD | posted 7-Nov-2008 11:56am YES |
| Biggles | posted 1-Feb-2009 7:50pm I'm a student right now, and I'm not sure that would be a very effective way for me to work as a doctor in the future! |
