I've never had a job interview, because I'm a loser.

All of what the scuzzballs asked was strange. I especially hated the one, however, that asks what I hoped to be doing in 5 years.

I don't remember ever being asked any weird questions during an interview. I've seen some pretty freakin weird ones on those stupid 'integrity tests' though.

I haven't been asked a strange question, although I've only been interviewed once. So .. yeah.

One guy asked me why, given my choice of university degree, would I want to go for a (completely unrelated) job like this?

I thought I did a great job of answering the question, didn't get the job, and in the feedback the guy said I didn't get it because he just couldn't percieve any obvious link between the two. That really pissed me off.

I can't think of anything, it has been a while.... well, I guess I had one a few years ago, but I don't recall any strangeness. I did get asked to do a quiz, which was annoying, but not strange.

What would I do if the same car repeatedly parked in my assigned space in a parking garage?

Seriously, that was the question. I was interviewing for a retail job at a gift store.

I can't stand "What would you do if..." questions that are totally unrelated to the job. It implies that your reactions outside of work would reflect your reactions at work, as if people don't adapt their behaviors for their workplace.

This one bugged me for awhile afterwords...especially since I didn't get the job.

That one seems like a fun one to answer 'wrong'

I had a job interview yesterday, and one of the questions was, "If you could be any fruit, which one would you be?"

I said, "That's a new one."

Interviewer: "Yeah, we let the employees pick some of the questions."

I wound up saying a granny smith apple. It's my favorite fruit, and I said it was a combo of sweet and tangy, and somehow that represented me. My boyfriend and I talked about that question for a bit last night, and had fun coming up with suggestive answers. In the end, the one I though that was most interview-centric was, "I'd be a passion fruit, because I'm very passionate about many different things!" * rolls eyes *

I have a second interview today, I'll see what fun they have in store for me there.

I used to work in retail management, and I thought it was interesting to see the answers I'd get to the loss prevention questions. One was, "What would you do if you saw a co-worker take $10 out of the register?" The "correct" answer was that you would tell management. Many many people said they would call the person out on it, and if they put it back, they wouldn't tell. The other question was, "Your discount is for you, your mom/dad, and your brothers/sisters. If your best friend came in and wanted to use your discount what would you tell them?" Again, the correct answer would be "hell no," but many people didn't seem to get that message . . .

Cannot recall. I don't think I've really had a job interview that wasn't mundane run of the mill anyway. Cheap jobs give cheap interviews.

I was being interviewed by a man and a woman once and I felt very jovial with the two. We were joking around and then the guy said to me, "Do you always talk in that voice?"

This wasn't strange, but I thought it was funny as hell and this question made me think of it.

I was told I could no longer wear my gun at work if he hired me. I told him I wasn't and didn't wear one. He didn't believe me and kept talking about it (concealed firearms) as if I was lying to him and still hiding one on me.

The person asked, "What's four times twenty-six?" in the middle of something unrelated.
I replied, "How much do you want four times twenty-six to be?"
I got the job.

What kind of car do you drive?

Couldn't figure out what difference that made.

I was asked what I did above and beyond in my previous job. Cheesch. My previous job WAS above and beyond in ALL respects - on call 24/7, no life, total commitment, burnout was why I was looking for another job in a totally different field - from medicine to retail sales. I went blank, surprised, couldn't quickly figure out what she was going after - was I supposed to say I'd stay late to make sure everything was out of the boxes onto the shelves? Yikers. As I left, I said even though I knew I wouldn't be hired, I wouldn't stop shopping at the store. ( I won't be completely got rid of. Ha.)

I hate job interviews it seems whatever I do its wrong! I think the problem is people who get in a position of power who don't know how to interview or what they should be looking for as per the job they are filling.I think most of the questions are strange. I use to have the ability to hire I just wanted to find out what type of person is this and are they capable of doing the job.
