No. I use it, but not often. 'Idiot' used to be used as medical terminology; this is just the same. Things change. Like the Spastics Society and that. |
Galomorro |
I don't use it and I don't pay a lot of attention to the current slang terms. I just ignore stuff like this. |

No. I don't get too easily offended, though. People take crap too seriously. |
romkey |
I'm not offended by it, but I do dislike it. |

I do not like either word, to disrespect someone else is to disrespect yourself!

This survey is so gay! |

I hear that word all the time at this day and age, and I have no problem hearing that word, |

Yes, that is ignorant to use the word retarded to make fun of someone. I use the word to describe something that has ceased to grow, or stunted growth and/or retarded thinking. Someone or group that doesn't look at everything and has limited outlooks. |
Enheduanna |
Not usually, although I don't like it if "retarded" sounds and gestures accompany the word. I do occasionally call something retarded, although I usually feel a small twinge of guilt when I do. |

No, I think that is excessively PC - which is completely retarded.
"Retard" does not just mean mentally disabled.

No, I have no problem using the word "retarded" to mean stupid. In fact, I think its pretty retarded to have a problem with that use. |

It doesn't really bother me, as I can generally understand what the person is saying when they say "retarded" |

Anyone who gets upset over the words "retarded" meaning stupid is a Dee-Ta-Dee.... |
| docgbrown |
Meah, as long as it isn't over used I ignore it |
Matty |
Not especially, though I know it's insensitive, I even do this myself sometimes |

I know this is a site that is for opinions, but it really gets to me to read some of the questions that are so out in left field that no one cares, and reading some of the opinions is even worse at times. This may get me kicked off of here or irritate some people, but oh well. Click on this site and Foamy the Squirrel will explain it in a way I couldn't. http://www.illwillpress.com/FOR33.html |

An inanimate object can not be "retarded". |
