| justjulie | posted 29-Aug-2008 7:19am going, as long as i knew that i am indeed growing |
| Enheduanna | posted 29-Aug-2008 7:53am I think it's far more useful to know where I've been. Then I can learn from my experiences. How would you learn if you only knew where you were going? How would you even know how to get there? |
| Matty | posted 29-Aug-2008 8:22am I already know where I'v been; this question seems insipid to me. But perhaps I just don't get it; could someone explain ths? |
| cloudhugger | posted 29-Aug-2008 8:43am I would think logically where I'm going would be more appropriate. I like having a plan, and plans usually include destinations and goals.
BUT there is a sense deep down that is truly fascinated with where I have been. It is better for knowing who I am and how to deal with what is in the road ahead. |
| bill | posted 29-Aug-2008 8:46am lol @ explanation -- (I often feel foolish trying to concoct some elaborate hypothetical situation to get people to answer my question) |
| Cain | posted 29-Aug-2008 9:37am I'd like to know where I'm going - to prepare for the ride. |
| Melf | (reply to Matty) posted 29-Aug-2008 10:08am It's generally metaphorical. |
| Matty | (reply to Melf) posted 29-Aug-2008 10:14am okay, still don't get it, don't know what the metaphor is; chalk this up to my being thick-headed. |
| LindaH | posted 29-Aug-2008 10:47am Knowing where I'm going. But I'd mostly prefer knowing where I am. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 29-Aug-2008 5:50pm Knowing where i have been is what I prefer |
| JohnCD | posted 30-Aug-2008 12:27am I think it is very advantageous to have goals and a plan so you know where you are going. It’s also important to know where you have been so you can learn from your experiences. |
| kcthedog | posted 30-Aug-2008 3:14am By knowing where you have been allows you to gauge where you are headed, so I would rather know where I have been so I may know where to go back to, and where not to go back to. When I look forward I see infinity, I jump forward, then I look backward, to see how far I made it! |
| Phenomanon | posted 30-Aug-2008 8:10pm Where I'm going would be better. No regrets. |
| HMC35 | posted 3-Sep-2008 6:07am What a strange question.
I already know where I've been. By default, I would choose where I'm going .. albeit, that takes the surprise out of everything. |
| Edenhallgirl | posted 17-Aug-2009 2:12pm Knowing where I have been. (I majored in history as an undergraduate.) Besides, I wouldn't really like to know everything about where I am going - takes the fun out of life. Good question. |
