I think that when it comes to the execution of the games - that is, the opening/closing ceremonies, having amazing venues ready for the events, Beijing did a good job in their hosting duties. The ceremonies were great to watch, and the venues were amazing.
That said, what they had to go through to get those items there (displacing thousands of people), along with the blatant favoritism in scoring towards China during the games, and the controversies that surrounded this, I wasn't pleased with how Beijing and China came off. |

I think Beijing did a great job in hosting the games. |

Good job. I think people are going to want to pick more holes in it than will have been done with other Olympics. |

I think they did ok. The facilities looked good and the opening ceremonies were cool. I didn't watch a lot of events, but what I saw seemed to run well. I'm curious about whether the pollution was really an issue; I didn't see much about it during the games, so maybe it turned out not to be a big problem. I also heard that there were some human rights violations, like knocking down houses to build facilities and sentencing those two elderly women to a labor camp for trying to stage a protest. |

A great job. But be mindful it was a Chinese Games and the face they wanted to put to the world was achieved. |

Their actual hosting was ok, but the thing with the girl lip-singing (at least cheat at something that matters), blantant bad judging, underage divers, etc just shows the world China's true colors. They have a long way to go. And never mind their lack of free speech on garden variety of issues. |

Excellent job in hosting, even better in cheating at all the subjective sports. But what beats all is how the Chinese treated the atheletes...confiscating iPods, etc. Let's do it again! |

From what I heard, yes. |

From what I saw, which wasn't much - yeah, I think they did a good job. |

It was okay. I rarely watch the summer Olympics, I always wait for the winter ones .. but this year I watched some of the gymnastics and running. That one dude jumping across the finish line was crazy. Is that allowed?
Anyway .. |

I would like to say a great job, but I am not a good critic for that. I have not much to compare it to. I've heard murmurs of how they didn't do such a great job, but for me sitting on my bun-bun at home, I enjoyed what little I saw of it. |

Ask the people in the Chinese slums what they thought of it! |
