"politically correct" is probably a bad term, but absolfukinglutly that should be a factor (among others). Whether or not that should be enough to keep them from having it is up for debate, but it should be taken into account.

China should not have hosted the games because she's a corrupt fudging craphole, bereft of the belief that human life has value. Tibet is a different issue, but it should somehow be a factor as well.

Oh god.

Don't get me started on this subject. I don't see anything wrong with China hosting the Olympics. So what if they're 'dictator'? I don't care. I don't care about Tibet, I don't care about Taiwan, I don't care about their lack of rights, and all the rest. There are factors more important in deciding where Olympics are going to be held. There is plenty wrong with most countries in the world. If the Olympic comittee deemed China worthy of holding the Olympics (I admit I don't know under what criteria, if there was any bias, any corruption from any side, etc), than that's good enough for me, leave politics out of it (as much as possible) and focus on other factors. If you wanted Olympics to be politically correct, then we should just hold them on the Moon. Even better, North Korea or Zimbabwe. I'd be delighted.

Keep the politics out of it, but I didn't appreciate the fakeness of how happy and smiling they were. Maybe it wasn't fake, but they treat their people like crap in some ways, that has nothing to do with competition.
