yeah, i've seen folks do it and have done it myself for craps and giggles...the saddest one though was seeing a lil' old lady do this. she was so confused. |

Yes a few times and it was kids playing around and I had to yell at the kids. Going the wrong way on an escalator is very dangerous. You could fall and hurt yourself. |

Teens at the mall are always trying to run up the down escalator. Some do it. Some can't. A few get chased by the rent-cops. |

I wanna do it so bad. The only time I saw it was last week, a dude went to the middle of an up one and walked down, but he was walking in place, then he went up. I wanted to marry him. |

I remember when I was a young teen, my friends and I would go to the mall for fun and a couple times we went up the down escalator... until someone at the store told us to piss off. I don't think we ever went down the up escalator, though. |

Your comment reminded me of a completely unrelated incident, but one that also involved the phrase piss off. Once my friend and I were babysitting a small group of kids. We were at a conference my father was attending, and the kids were the kids of other attendees, some of whom were from other countries. At some point, out of nowhere, this little British kid came up to us and said "Piss off!" Then he went back to whatever he was doing. It was especially funny because of his accent. Whenever I read the phrase piss off now, I automatically hear it in my head with his accent. |

I've done this myself - but only because my little girl insisted that she would go down by herself, got to the top of the escalator and wussed out, so I had to run back up it to grab her. |
