Other - It would be nice, but I've done nothing big enough to warrant "deserve." |
Melf | | posted 16-Aug-2008 7:29pm |
No, but I deserve better parents. |

No. My life is swell. You only deserve the life you make for yourself. If you aren't getting what you rightfully deserve, it means someone is keeping it from you. Take it back. |

Yes, of course I do. Silly question! |

I thought something similar for a looooooooong time - I sympathise with anybody who is disappointed with their parents. Do they not realise the effects their actions (or lack of action) have on us? |

No.
People who can't afford to feed their kids deserve a better life. It would be ignorant and selfish of me to say that I, who have everything I need (not necessarily want), deserve a better life. |

I'm tempted to say yes, but then again, I don't really really deserve it. I don't really do much to help other people, but that's for a reason. People take advantage of me. I don't need them.
... I think I just deserve an apology. |

Why would anybody "deserve" anything? |

I don't deserve this life I ended up with. |

Yes... Unfortunately seems like things always go wrong... Some people could walk thru a room knee deep in crap and reach in and pull out a diamond... Others would reach in and all they get is a handful of crap, and others would not only get a handful of crap but also pick up a disease from the crap... I am one of the latter... Seems like everything that can go wrong does... I get very suspicious and wait for the last shoe to drop when things seem to be going good.... My life started out bad when I spent most of the first year of my life in an orphanage and has gone down hill since... |

Deserve? Does that mean 'entitled to'? I suppose, but that means I'm not working hard enough to be better, so I guess I don't deserve it. |
kcthedog | | posted 17-Aug-2008 1:34pm |
Deserve is not the word I would choose, entitled is a better word, I believe we all are entitled to a life as full and wonderful as one can imagine. Deserving something (IMO) means you earned it, entitled means it is already yours to have all you have to do is go out and live it. While life doesn’t always deal us the life we would ask for I think that emotional aspects about ourselves hide offering that life does have and it is easy to miss some great opportunities for “The better life” |

I would not have used the word "deserve". Though I've had hard times, I feel blessed. I had good parents, I have wonderful children, and grandchildren, a roof over my head, clothes on my back, and food to eat. I'm blessed. |

if I didn't have the life I have I wouldn't be me. I'd be someone else. I learned what i did and done in life and that's what made me who I am today. Now if I won a lottery, then it would be different. lol |

No, my life is pretty swell. It's not exactly as I would like it right now, but it's still a good life. |

yes, I deserve better but I don't feel entitled to it. "just because" like some people thesedays. You have to work hard for what you get....and sometimes things work out, and sometimes they don't. I think it's healthiest to control what is within your power to make better, but to not waste energy on things that aren't in your control. |
