  Highly sensitive person test (detailed).

This is a follow-up to the Are you a "highly sensitive person"? survey.

I'm curious which answers are most commonly selected from the "Are You Highly Sensitive?" self-test.

Answer each question according to the way you personally feel. Check the box if it is at least somewhat true for you; leave unchecked if it is not very true or not at all true for you.

Other peoples' moods, very sensitive to pain, when I must complete ... a task, loud noises/some loud noises like peoples' voices and motorcycles, high priority to arrange life to avoid... , unpleasant to have a lot going on at once (unable to multitask), notice and enjoy... sounds... art (doesn't EVERYone?), changes in my life... , being very hungry..., unpleasantly aroused when a lot is going on around me , annoyed when people try to get me to do too many things at once, try hard to avoid making mistakes... , getting rattled..., startle easy..., nervous system so frazzled that I have to go off by self, deeply moved by arts or music (again, most people are, to a certain extent aren't they?), rich, complex inner life. This survey has too many questions that are duplicates or nearly so. I don't remember or know what parents or teachers saw me as - nobody ever told ME what they thought...

I think the reason people often score highly on these tests in the romanticism of the illness. Everyone likes to think they have a complex inner life, everyone wants to be deeply moved by the arts. Also, the opposite of sensitive is insensitive; nobody wants to be insensitive.

Most of these. Easier to say what doesn't apply.

I'm not bothered by chaotic scenes unless I'm directly responsible for rectifying them.
I don't like loud noises when I'm working. Totally don't mind them if I am playing.
Changes don't shake me up. I love changes.
I don't startle easily, and I have a wicked mean streak about people who do *evil smile* (just kidding)
I'm not at all sensitive to the effects of caffeine. I wish. I'm physically tolerant to it. Must have more!
When people are uncomfortable in a physical environment I usually have absolutely no idea what needs to be done to make it more comfortable.
When I must compete or be observed while performing a task, I pretend no one is watching.

I score high on these because I have sensory integration issues. When I get overwhelmed, I either go off by myself, or I just plain go off. *wink*

I try so hard to avoid mistakes but gee they happen and nothing i can do about it and forgetting things i have no big issue in forgetting anything because I write it down on paper so that I do not forget.
