Maybe. It depends on exactly how close together, if they're talking or laughing, but most of the time yes. I have this game in which I make things up about random people's lives. Like if there's a woman and a baby, I name the baby Fred and his daddy left for another woman named Shirley who is still in college, studying biology. |

Yes, I am guilty of automatically assuming.
BUT if I see two women walking together arm in arm I do not assume they are a couple, nor do I asume it with two old ladies. Two guys, yes, I am guilty of assuming they re a couple |

Generally yes, except in cities/office country. Then it's just as likely two co-workers are walking together.
The real question is: if you see two guys walking together do you wonder if they're jerks? |
