Regretful, sad and shame. I hate it when I accidentally kill something.

The same way I feel after sharpening a pencil or tying my shoe.

"He stayed the killing blow, watching the insect struggle tenaciously onward, getting caught in pieces of hay and working itself loose, plowing forward with stubborn, admirable determination.

Josh opened his fist and drew his arm back. The insect kept going, out of the light's range and into the darkness on its purposeful journey. Who am I to kill such a thing? he asked himself. Who am I to deliver death to even the lowest form of life?"

Smug. Every other feeling I feel is smug.

There was a millipede in my room yesterday. I was sat on my bed with the computer turned round, and I saw something out of the corner of my eye - little red arthropod of mass destruction. I got it on a piece of A4 paper and threw it out the window.

Oh, but stepping on snails isn't smug. It's 'aww' mixed with 'I want to hear that sound all the time, everyday for the rest of my life.'

I sometimes feel, I'm killing a part of the balance of nature. I only kill an insect if they're in my home.

Regretful - I hoovered up a spider the other day and felt guilty about it.
I hate standing on snails - that crunch is one of the most horrible noises ever.

*check* Other (I have something else to say)

Killing bugs is a necessary chore to maintain a sanitary and healthy living environment, it does not make me happy, proud, or crazy, I certainly do not feel like a villain or like a hero, I may feel some regret and sadness but very little, I cannot see how jealousy makes any sense although defense is exactly what is happening, defense of your living space but I don’t get anxious or feel shame, malice, some disgust and only surprised when the bug sneaks up on me and then optimism thinking that my space is bug free!

It varies, depending on the bug.

I'm reading it right now. The survey made me think of what I had just read.

It's really good.

Usually very happy because it was obviously bugging me (no pun intended) or I wouldn't have killed it.

Well checked "Other" since "Nothing" wasn't an option... Kind of like the joke about what do you feel when you shoot somebody? The recoil...

It's probably okay to feel bug guts in between your toes.

Regretful. I must be softening in my old age. I'll step over or around a bug now instead of squashing them. They deserve to live too. Unless of course they make the mistake of getting in the house. Then they die. Usually by the cats.

I have ceased killing any living creatures, regardless of size.

Even mosquitos I don't kill (although I can understand why people would).

Humans killing animals just because they are a pest are selfish and inhumane
