I actually believe bottled water tastes better. The bottled water was delivered 2 days late where I work, and I had to drink tap water...fudging gross. I had always thought this was a lot of hooey until this just happened. |

I've only tasted water other than tap water when occasionally having a sip of a friend's filtered water (Brita) and that tasted better to me than the tap I normally drink. I've been thinking about getting a water filter. I'd never buy plain bottled water-if I buy water it has to have a flavor and added healthy supplements to make it worth buying for me. I see all these empty water bottles all the time in the recycle bin put there by neighbors but to buy plain water just seems like a waste of money to me. |

It depends. Some tap water is bad, and some bottled water is bad. With the bottled water, though, it's usually that it tastes like the plastic bottle. I've also read recently that some bottled water is just tap water, and sometimes it's not particularly good tap water in terms of impurities. |

Now this is of course filtered tap water. I would not drink the local water without a filter *shudder* |

Some places it does. I currently live in Waterloo, Ontario, and the tap water there is so hard it's undrinkable. Other places, like Toronto, I don't have a preference. |

I agree. I can't stand filtered water sold in bottles, like Dasani or Aquafina. |

I think it tastes fine, really, but from what I hear, the quality at the microscopic level isn't always that great. I also hate to waste the plastic. I haven't bought bottled water in ages. |

No, our tap water is really nice and tastes very clean anyway. In some other parts of the country, I'd drink bottled rather than tap water. |

How can you generalize this way?
That said, water from my well tastes better to me than most bottled water does. I do have a weakness for San Pellegrino, though. And I usually won't drink city tap water unless I'm really thirsty.

No. It actually tastes duller because more stuff has been taken out of it. I always drink tap water at home and only buy water when I'm out and bottled stuff is the only thing I can find. |
