with green eggs and ham, sure! |

"Some people eat it because of health benefits like nutrients, preventing postpartum depression, and increased milk production."
Isn't that the exact same thing that green tea does? And, considering I think that green tea tastes like what I can only suppose a placenta would taste like, that would be a, no. |

No thanks... |

Never, I think it's disgusting |

I think an adult would essentially get the same benefits from a multivitamin and a steak. My impression was that the majority of benefits would be for the child, especially in terms of immune system benefits. If I am right in my assumption, then no, I don't want to eat a placenta. |

Sounds barbaric. |

I have heard some peopple do this. |

Nope. I don't care how full of nutrients it is. Yuck. That thing slid out from between someone's legs!! |

Things slide in and out from between someone's legs all the time; most people consider that to be a fun thing. |

At this point, no. But, perhaps with enough coaxing, I would. It's funny, I was just talking to a friend who recently had a baby. The placenta is in her freezer and she doesn't know what to do with it. |
romkey | | posted 4-Aug-2008 10:55am |
Possibly if I were starving to death. I doubt that it would have any health benefits for me. |
Melf | | posted 4-Aug-2008 11:08am |
Sure. As sure as I would eat, say, toenails or syphillis on toast. |

Saturday Night Live did a skit which was a commercial for Placenta Helper, but it was censored and never shown. The text from the skit is included in one of their script books from, I think, 1977. You can find the text of the skit at http://www.justblowme.com/showthread.php?t=19418 . |

Your posts remind me so much of a previous user named 'wolf'. Uncanny, I do a double take almost everytime I see your replys. |
cloudhugger | | (reply to Jody) posted 6-Aug-2008 12:56pm |
I read that, it seems I remember seeing that skit, the part where Belushi comes in the end, and they both 'laugh at his stupid mistake' I seem to remember seeing that. maybe not at the time, but maybe years later on cable orsomething ? |
Melf |
Yeah, but Wolf barely answered surveys. She was too busy going 'I can't answer this. You didn't account for people with no eyes.' etc, etc. |
Melf |
I wonder if babies have all the nutrients that placentas have. |

I think they might have shown in one of their clip shows or "best of" shows or what have you. I kind of remember seeing some part of it also. Maybe a shared delusion though ;). |
