  Would you eat a placenta?

A Placenta is basically a slab of flesh that comes out with the baby. Some people eat it because of health benefits like nutrients, preventing postpartum depression, and increased milk production. Usually the mother will eat it, but fathers and other family members sometimes do it too. It is either cooked or dried and put in capsules.

Isn't that the exact same thing that green tea does? And, considering I think that green tea tastes like what I can only suppose a placenta would taste like, that would be a, no.

I think an adult would essentially get the same benefits from a multivitamin and a steak. My impression was that the majority of benefits would be for the child, especially in terms of immune system benefits. If I am right in my assumption, then no, I don't want to eat a placenta.

Things slide in and out from between someone's legs all the time; most people consider that to be a fun thing. *wink*

At this point, no. But, perhaps with enough coaxing, I would. It's funny, I was just talking to a friend who recently had a baby. The placenta is in her freezer and she doesn't know what to do with it.

Possibly if I were starving to death. I doubt that it would have any health benefits for me.

Saturday Night Live did a skit which was a commercial for Placenta Helper, but it was censored and never shown. The text from the skit is included in one of their script books from, I think, 1977. You can find the text of the skit at http://www.justblowme.com/showthread.php?t=19418 .
