  Are you a beachcomber?

By beachcomber, I mean someone who walks along the beach looking for interesting shells and such to collect.

No, but the next time I go to the beach I want to find a sucking stone.

I usually throw myself into the ocean to get shells though, at the beach I go to, there's no shells on the beach, you have to go in the water and fight the water.

yes!! I rarely get to go to the beach, but I do look for shells and sea glass. My master bath is seashell themed. :) Even my sink is shaped like a shell.

What...pray tell...is a sucking stone?

Exactly what it sounds like. A stone you suck on. It's from a book I'm reading at the moment - the main character's a little odd.

Call me strange, but I've never visited a beach before in all my life--and I'm 41 years old!

I just saw a movie yesteray where the guy picks up a smooth stone off of the beach, rubbed the sand off, looks at it and than licks it. If he stuck it in his mouth and started sucking on it I would have changed the channel.

I used to look at shells and stuff, and I even took a few home. But I never did anything other than throw that stuff away. Now, I spend all my time at the beach looking at women's bewbs; they're a lot more interesting than any stupid shell. And yes, my wife is with me when I go to the beach; she's just realistic enough to understand that my eyes weren't gouged out at our wedding.

I couldn't think of the name, I think I had it wrong when I first replyed.
It was about a serial killer. The guy was as sweet as they came, and he was a drifter that settled down in a small town.He gained the trust of everyone he came in contact with and seemed quite harmless. He was poisoning peopple in random? methodical? fashion. He put the poison in drinks. Fascinating story. I will go home and find the movie so I can give you the name, I think you would like it. It was a psychological murder thriller type movie, but a very quiet movie.
I missed the first 15 or 20 minutes of the movie, so we have it set to record the next time it comes on.

That was Molly, by Samuel Beckett. It's the first in a trilogy. I'm on the second now, it's called Malone Dies. Very bizarre but very funny book.
