I just came back from this a minute ago. I never saw the Tim Burton films, but look at the state of the neat guy. S'gotta be Ledger. |

I think he's more terrifying when he's neat..So, ''scruffy'' |

I'm in love with the scruffy guy but I have to say, he's not quite the Joker. He's completely different. But love is bliiind. I wouldn't have it any other way. |

You can't beat Heath Ledger. He kicked way too much ass. |

I kind of liked the original one (Cesar Romero). |

I thought that Jack Nicholson's Joker was a waste of time... he was a clown... not threatening, not scary. Mostly he pranced about like he was looking for motivation. It was very disappointing; when I'd heard Nicholson was cast as the Joker it sounded great.
Ledger's Joker was fantastic. It's difficult to talk about his performance separately from his death, but he made the Joker believable, more than a comic book character. |

I was reading about this earlier - Nicholson hated the idea of Ledger as the Joker, but just because he hadn't been asked. He didn't even think he was going to go and see it. Knob. |

Heath Ledger's version is the best. The Dark Knight is by far the best Batman movie made as well as the best superhero movie in general. I loved it so much. The darkness accurately portrays the true Batman. |

Scruffy makes him look less like a parody of an insane person. |

I don't really have a vivid memory of Nicholson's Joker. I probably didn't hate it, but I am certain that I will never forget Ledger's interpretation, which was amazing. |

I think the neat Joker is closer to the one that was originally intended by the creators of the character. Personally though, I prefer the scruffy one.
I can't remember where I read it - possibly on here somewhere - but it appeals to me that the Ledger joker is a terrorist in the truest sense of the word (i.e - not motivated by money or fame, but out of sheer desire for destruction). I think it makes him a far better villain. The Nicholson Joker was kinda funny, but had no real substance.
Going to see the film tomorrow - I don't think I have ever anticipated a movie so much - I hope it's good! |

The scruffy one seems more believable as a lunatic criminal. |

Other. I would like to see the movie. Still pictures do not truly bring out the character enough, which adds to the visual appearance. |

I prefer the neat Joker "winks" |

The neat one is closer to the joker from the TV show. The scruffy one, I'm like, WTF? |
