Meh!
(Sorry - but you did create an option for 'this is stupid') |

Would it honestly matter? |

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Your conditions don't really apply to my situation. First of all, if there's room for one person on the trip out with him then I don't get to take anyone else, do I? And why does it matter? I can certainly leave where I live under my own power.
The whole about a hydrogen bomb headed my way and having to leave within two hours doesn't really make much sense, either.
I discuss the whole scenario with my friend and try to understand why it makes sense to him. Out of several people who I might consider my best friends, I can't think of one of them who I think this would make sense to either. |

If my friend was really that reliable and didn't show other signs of insanity, I guess I would believe him. It can't hurt to leave the city for a few hours, right? I would get my SO, grab a few things, including the cats, throw them into the car, and head north. If there was no bomb, we'd just come back. And then we'd deal with checking the now not-so-reliable friend into the loony bin. |

I'd stay put. |

beat up my best friend to take his car and get my whole family out.
Of course, however, this would be unecessary; I own a Yukon XL. |

probably.......Check your now-not-so-reliable friend into the nearest looney bin. |

I'd tell my friend good luck, then I'd try to confirm it myself, and then contact my brother/boyfriend and go from there. |
