Rape, child molestation, burglary. I wouldn't worry about those other 3 being my neighbors. |
Matty | | posted 17-Jul-2008 1:22pm |
On the contrary, which criminals need to beware if they move next to me? I wouldn't cower after learning such an individual moved next to me; I would clean my weapons on my front porch on a regular basis. If necessary, I would talk to this individual and apprise him of the current situation.
Eventually, though, I would find a more expensive neighborhood to live in, even if that meant taking a second job. |

lol, naber.
A rapist, then a burglar, then a child molester, then assault or battery, then a drunk driver, then a drug dealer. |
LindaH | | posted 17-Jul-2008 2:06pm |
As far as the assault/battery goes, it would depend on the circumstances of the crime. I wouldn't worry, unless it was someone who went around assaulting people for no reason. Most assault is situation-based. |

"naber"??
I'd be personally most concerned about having a neighbor who was convicted of burglary. |

I'm going to go with rape.
My parents used to live next door to drug dealers. They never knew. |

Drink Driver. Most of the others would follow the "birds don't crap..." policy and if they are going to re-offend will not do it in their own neighborhood. drink drivers?? They come home trashed and don't care. |

I would not want the child raper, but i would like the drug dealer living next to me, if he sold weed. |
LJD | | posted 18-Jul-2008 1:40am |
Geesh, what a list. If I had children in the near vicinity, the child molester. If it were just my husband and I, it would be a drug dealer...brings a lot of bad elements...which could cause the burglary, rape, assault, and so on.. |

This is a good question, shame about the spelling.
Anyway - a child molester would be of the greatest concern to me, as I have a three year old daughter.

They all suck. Drug dealing for sure, burglary is a close second. Although I think the burglar wouldn't work so close to home. Drug dealers are usually home bodys. |

A registered sex offender i would be concerned about and having all these kids that live around here |

Me myself yes i have lived next to drug dealers and never knew it until the Drug Task Force kicked down their
front door and arrested this family what a noise it was those cops kicking in the front door
Yes I remember seeing all these cops with armor on and guns out in my driveway and out in the road lining
up to make this arrest wow that was something to see?? |

check--- Dealing drugs. I wouldn't mind living next door to a drug dealer. I WOULD, however, mind if said drug dealer was doing his dealings next door to me. What he / she does several corners away from my house would be none of my business.
check--- Burglary. Actually living next door to one of these criminals, the burglar is the one where living next door to them is most likely a factor to getting victimized. Then again, would a burglar really be stupid enough to LITTERARLY hit up their next door neighbor. I mean if my stero sudden is missing, he better not start fronting with exactly the same model.
no check--- Rape, child molestation. Because I am single, don't have any children, and rapists (generally) victimize women. Although studies show most rape victims are victimized by someone you know. That might be a factor. As for child molestors, they're pretty much the doges of the crime world. The child molestor would be the demographic that I would most likely be able to take in a fight. Unlike the others, I should be able to kick their ass easily.
no check--- assault and battery, because these tend to be the result of random short bursts of anger, or if planned, because they had a beef.
no check--- drunk driving. Duh. Drunk drivers, as dangerous as they are on the road, actually living next door to one wouldn't have any effect (unless they would be so hammerd that they would run me over on my sidewalk or drive through my house).

My parents didn't know until it was in the paper and someone at my mom's work made a comment in a joking way about them living on that street. Turns out it was their neighbor. |

Nothing these days should surprise us, we just never ever do know no matter where we live in this world
i live out here in a rural area next to these Fair Grounds and yes very few homes around and of course a
trailer park with this small airport just next door , there is at times criminal activity happening around here
and i read in the paper about these burglary suspects trying to run from the cops and ramming the cop car
right here in town it is like the Wild West out here guns blazing and people going insane or something or
a naked person out for a jog gee |
| llamamama |
Exactly. People are crazy. |
| JessicaWoman99 | | (reply to llamamama) posted 19-Jul-2008 12:19am |
Yes I do not even live in any city like Denver 98 miles away and we get those tourists that come up here and
bikers like the Hells Angels and hippies live around here and cowboys it is something else |
| llamamama |
We don't have that here |

Gee it is wild people gone crazy and insane and i make darn sure to lock all my doors at night and double check
them plus i have an intercom system so I can hear if anybody comes to my front door , you just cannot trust
anybody not even your neighbors no longer even thou i do have really good neighbors some of them not all?
Or people stare at you if you go shopping it gives me the creeps some man just staring very creepy
|

Oh your lucky and i used to live just down the highway from here in Silverthorne and yes i was living next to
drug dealers in that town as well and never did know it until i read that one in the paper and freaked me out
But a rapist living next door would be far worse because i would not know until the dogs start baking off their
heads and i hear somebody outside my door or window the cops would be here in seconds if I call 911? |
| JessicaWoman99 | | (reply to llamamama) posted 19-Jul-2008 12:33am |
> We don't have that here
Plus i remember the time that I had to call 911 because the neighbors were drunk and fighting each other running
up and down the road yelling and shouting and they were naked and drinking beer |

Drugs. They attract bad people. Maybe burglary. The other stuff wouldn't bother me |
| laurenk1 |
Once a rapist, always a rapist. Usually, not always, someone who has committed rape will in fact do it again. I would be most afraid to live next to a rapist because I feel that rape is the worst thing that you can do to a person and their loved ones, only second to murder. |

meowry | | posted 22-Oct-2008 3:38pm |
Thank you, mister naber. Anyway, rape and child molestation are at the top of my list. Burglary and assault and battery, moderately so. The other two, I don't care about--especially drunk driving. I've seen drunk drivers on the road. |
