Would you take this warning seriously?

If you saw this sticker on a piece of machinery at your school or at your work, maybe even out on the town, would you take the extra caution near the gear?

image

If you click on the image it will pop up larger.
The top of the sticker says
A SAFETY SERVICE BY FARM BUREAU WOMEN IN ILLINOIS

VotesAnswer
7Yes, I would take that warning very seriously. My safety is priority and I would be exceptionally careful near the gear.
5No, I would not take it any more serious than if it would just say "CAUTION" without the graphic image.
4Yes, I would run like hell away from the machinery the sticker was on.
4Yes, I would be a little more careful than normal.
4I would appreciate the stern and sober warning!
4No, I would fall into the machinery because I was trying to read the small print on the sticker placed nearest the point of the most danger.
3No, I would fall into the gears of the machinery because I was laughing my ass off.
3No, but I would stop working or walking near that equipment because I would spend hours reflecting on what kind of mind could come up with that warning sticker and if I could get more.
2Other gears ripping off hands thoughts.
0Probably not, it wouldn't get my attention and I would disregard it as an appendage removing type of equipment, and act as I normally do.

I probably wouldn't have noticed; we are so bombarded with advertisements that I don't pay attention to stickers and other stuff.

I tend to be cautious and I do try to be extra cautious if I see a warning sign. I know they are usually there for a good reason. The prosthetic image does make the point nicely.

You know I would be laughing my ass of and falling itno the gears trying to read the small print. I have spent time pondering what kind of mind would come up with that...claw...to make a point. I have decided it was a very pissed off house wife who had to go out and get a job to support the family because the idiot of a husband went and got his hand cut off. So this pissed off house wife found that there were more like her, married to fudging morons* and decided to form a support group, it grew large enough to than become government recognized as a force in being careful or your wife will get realy pissed if you go and get your hand cut off and you will be stuck with a claw for the rest of your miserable life.

*I mean no disrespect to fudging morons

Yes, there is a reason for the sticker. Years, ago I knew a man that was working on his car, under the hood. He asked someone to help him, behind the steering wheel, to start the car when he told them to....well, the person behind the wheel started the car at the wrong time, cutting off the fingers of our friend...the person behind the wheel "thought" he heard Walt say to start the car, when in fact he did not....the point is he didn't listen......if you see a sign or sticker that leads you to believe there can be a problem....LISTEN, heed the warning.

Yes, it would remind me to be extremely careful. I think it's a good warning and more effective than "Caution" would be.

Well since I try to be careful around any equipment it wouldn't make much difference to me what sticker is there....

Thank you! You are the only one so far who seen the sign as I did. How can you possibly take that seriously, rather than a sign that just said "careful!"

the funniest warning sticker i ever saw was on a hospital TV in denver...it was of a little man dressed nicely in a suit complete w/ a bowler hat, and he was impaled through the neck w/ the arm of the TV stand, (you know that hospital TV are mounted high up on the wall w/ a swing-like arm thing, so it can be moved/adjusted)
hilarious!

Obviously the warning was meant for women who are less then mechanically savvy, I personally as a male I already know gears can be dangerous and so can machinery in general, but that just goes to show you, women should stay in the kitchen and away from farm equipment.

OMG that is freaking hilarious! How can that be taken seriously!? I would have laughed myself silly and probably ended up impaling myself with something else.

Listen here pal...were you being facetious? Or are you really believing that?
did you say that to get a response? To start something? It is a fact that women are better mechanics than men. They have more patience and tend to take things apart NOT using a hammer. The only reason men say assinine things like this is to keep all the fun, high paying jobs for themselves by brainwashing women into thinking they are only good for cleaning, which ironically, is what men refuse to do.
