I've had a huge problem with waking up in the middle of the night February through May. It kind of went away (I used melatonin that romkey recomended me to use). But now I'm going through another phase of early morning wakefulness - except that this time I wake up after 6 hours of sleep not 4, so I'm okay to function even if I don't get back to sleep. Sleeping pills don't help, unless I take them the moment I wake up and they put me back to sleep quickly, but it's very unwise to use them like that. |

9. There was a car crash outside my house a couple of weeks - the actual crash happened about 10m from my bed, and I didn't wake up. |

It so so soooo depends. On so much. If I am not home, it would be about a 3. At home on average it might be a 5, or a 8 if I fall asleep with the tv on, or there is activity in the house I can drift off to. If it's everyday noises I'm fine, but anything out of the ordinary, like when the dog first arrived for a few months, it's about a 2. When company is here, sleeping, if the dog just looks at the cat, I am waking up. |

5. Lately I've been sleeping pretty badly. It's not that I wake up all that easily when there's noise, although I am a moderately light sleeper (hence the 5). For the first half of my sleep or so, I sleep very soundly and will sleep through a lot of noise. But after the first few hours, I tend to wake myself up a lot, I think mostly just because I'm stressed. Although even when I am not feeling stressed I do tend to wake up once or twice in the night. |

I haven't slept well since 1989, after an accident. Sleep deprivation destroys a person's health...so "other" |

It all depends on what time of night it is. I sleep a lot more soundly later on than I do when I first go to bed. I have a lifetime severe insomnia problem anyway and wake up every 1 to 3 hours on average anyway. Usually I wake up fairly easily but since I am also hearing-impaired I am not disturbed by a lot of noises that would bother others when they are trying to sleep. Gave it a 5. |

After studying a little on the Chinese Five Element Theory...this is what I learned. God created our bodies beautifully. The body has a clock, it does most of its work, or repair at certain times. If one has difficulty sleeping at night, from.....
11:00PM to 1:00AM, it's the gallbladder (the bowel to the liver)
1:00AM to 3:00AM, it's the liver
3:00AM to 5:00AM, it's the lungs
5:00AM to 7:00AM, it's the large colon (the bowel to the lungs)
If you wake through these times, you have an issue with the particular organ system. The systems also have their seasons. Our emotions affect every one of the systems. The emotion of the liver, is anger, stress. The emotion of the lung is grief, distress.

I checked 5. It's not sounds that wake me up, so much as I just wake up all night for various reasons. |

Right now I'd say a 6. I'm not very comfortable sleeping in my current apartment. I itch a lot after getting into bed, making me think I have bugs or fleas, but I've checked and taken precautions, haven't found any, but it still doesn't go away. My cat also likes to sleep right next to me, and she wakes/keeps me up some nights. |

If I could shoot the TV during the day, I'd sleep better at night. |

I wake up every 2-3 hours to pee, but when I am asleep, it is pretty soundly. |

I sleep better now for two reasons: my job is less stressful than it used to be, and I recently bought a tempurpedic foam mattress. It cost a lot of fudging money (4 large), but wow, what a difference |

Well it depends... Since I have sleep apnea, and a bunch of other sleep disturbing problems, I wake up all the time. I have to use a CPAP to keep breathing when asleep. If I take pain meds nothing can wake me, but if I don't then any noise will wake me and I grab one of my nearby guns... |

I really love to sleep. It takes me to my own world where I'm almost in control. There I can fly, but only short distances, lol Unfortunately, the slightest noise can wake me up. Sometimes I cal hear my name being called in my sleep and I wake up. That;s so annoying. Once I heard (someone special to me) that's in heaven, knock on my back door and call my name. Now that was just wierd..I was asleep, and that woke me up. |
