I actually really like most of the Belgian beers I've had. I'd like to try more, maybe even visit Belgium some day to and have some there.
I don't really like Budweiser beer.

I don't drink budweiser. Even if I did, a takeover wouldn't make me change. WTF? Why should it?

Probably not since I normally don't care about the brand of the beer to begin with. Come to think of it, I don't drink that much beer to begin with. I either don't drink anything or just go straight for the harder stuff, usually mixed with something else.

I might actually start buying it. Where's an option for that? Because as far as beers go, I can't stand Budweiser and it being bought by a Belgian brewery can only have positive effects.

Without wishing to start a fight , In general American beers are weak & lousy, coming from the UK where beer is served in pints and you have lots of choice.

with the exception of micro brewerys, when i am in the states I ask ...."what is the strongest beer you have on Tap?" usually they tell me Sam Adams which is not bad....... Miller, Bud, colt 45 ..ugh

In addition at stores in the UK, you can buy "extra strength, special brew etc etc" and some of these are like 7-9% Alc by Vol, which in a beer is like drinking fizzy whiskey! and these are in 330ml cans, I could never understand how Americans could drink a 6 pack of beer while watching sports.

Then after I tasted one and saw the size of the cans and the 1% Alc ...I got it

No, as far as I am concerned American beer is mostly toxic waste.
There should be warnings on them with an MSDA available.

If americans bought St. Pauli Girl, I might be concerned. Amongst cheap domestics, Coors was my fave, but I hear they too were bought out.

At least the jobs are still here, but it's yet another siphon of local wealth.

I drink Bombay Saphire, not beer. But I do think I would change my beer to an American brand...Rolling Rock or Sam Adams.

Not really? Saphire is truly unique. Once I tried it, I stopped drinking all other gin. Actually, I stopped drinking anything else.

It's the only one I stock, and my main hard mixer followed by rum. Gordons might be American.

dunno about the other stuff; I started drinking Saphire exclusively about 2 years ago. I really wouldn't know too much about anything else.
