The cost of a DSL hookup. That the survey companies I subscribe to don't send enough surveys, often give me bad surveys, and I never win more than a few infrequent bucks. That I get so much spam -- true I have an antispam program but I get sent sometimes 3 at a time of the same krapola -- and none of em ever have anything to do with me. I will no doubt think of more.

blinking ads
slideshows or top 10 (or more) lists that you have to click a new link for every picture/item. MSN does that, and it sucks!

I dislike spam, obviously. I also dislike the evolution towards widespread use of NAT and the separation of servers and client machines. When we started, the Internet was all about peer to peer networking. I think it's a loss that we've gone away from that.

I dislike the volume of porn available. I think there should be an entirely different internet system for porn. My little girl is starting to get to grips with the laptop and I'm terrified she'll see something she shouldn't, even with the parental controls on.

I dislike pop-ups.

I dislike how obtuse search engines can be when given relatively simple searchs to perform.

I dislike the request to have to register lots of details when trying to find something on a website. I'm not going to tell you anything, so don't bother asking, I'll just go somewhere else.

I dislike how I can get lost in the internet, and waste hours where I should be doing something more productive.

I dislike searching for videos on YouTube, etc, and having to trail through crappy versions before finding the good one I want. If it's not in good nick, don't post the damned thing.

Your lack of privacy. You're always having someone that wants to mess up your computer, creep into your files. It always seems like when there is something good, there will be someone who wants to use it for the bad.

My main peeve is duplicity. You can search for something like 'polarized LED' and the first 35,000 results are all clones of the same news release about some inventor.

My other complaint is those scraper/portal sites which show up with lists of links in place of actual site content.

Indeed. They have a blatant stealth attack quality to them. I have no idea what they actually do, but I never plan to stick around and find out. Anything doing something I didn't ask for gets the plug pulled immediately.
