Someone down the HALL from me (apt. bldg.) sometimes makes cakes, usually from mixes for us both. I buy mixes and readymade cakes from Whole Foods (their gingerbread cake). |

The only way to buy a coconut cream pie is at Frisch's -- which is a restaurant. I also make cake w/mix, buy them at the grocery or bakery. |

I bake my cakes from scratch. I make good cakes  I can't imagine why anyone with the ability the make a cake with a cake mix wouldn't go for the tastier, healthier and cheaper option of baking one from scratch. It's not rocket science! |

 Anything I bake either tastes lovely and looks horrible or tastes horrible and looks lovely. But it would be fun anyway. |

Other. My friends make them from scratch. I used to make them, but I would eat the whole thing in two days, so I have to wait two or three times a year when they make their way into my home and past my lips. |

My Mom used to teach cake decorating years ago. So I learned how and make my own cakes. When I pass the cakes dept. in grocer stores, it makes me gag to see all the crap they put on the cakes. And the computer sprayed on pictures, just annoy me, So not personal. Big fat borders, makes me want to throw up. Gezz, all that lard on that little cake. Anyways,, that's my say in that topic. |
