My anti-"drug" is MONEY! Tell kids that the money they're spending for recreational substances is wasting their money because -- this is VERY true in my own case -- they should be putting away all the money they can right now in savings and investments cuz someday -- unless they are very rich and stay that way -- they're gonna wish they had done so. Some substances cost more than others. In my case the most expensive substances were ecstasy, weed, and coke, and in my own case -- though it may've been fun at the time -- I was throwing money away that I could've used to buy a house. I actually made the choice to quit weed years ago because of the cost. I hate it the way all psychoactive substances are automatically lumped together as being all the same. Some are physically and dangerously addictive and some are only psychologically addictive. So kids should be taught the differences in school -- withOUT preaching or lies -- just tell the honest truth about what is known today about all sorts of drugs, including alcohol, tobacco and prescrip drugs. You might give yearly expenses -- an example might be how much it costs for a pack-a-day cigarette habit in ADDITION to possible health consequences. Don't go on about them being illegal or immoral. |

I have a problem with the whole way the word "drug" is used here. Do you get that alcohol is a drug? That Advil is a drug? That cigarettes are a drug? That wheat is a drug?

It's hard for me to answer because while I understand the spirit of the question, I don't associate drugs with badness per se, at least not for me. Drugs have mostly had a positive effect on my life. I don't buy into the "drugs are bad m'k" philosophy. I associate the "What is your anti-drug?" thing with a lot of anti-drug programs that generally spread misinformation based on a misunderstanding of the drug problem.
But, anyway, I play a lot of video games and I enjoy it and they relax me and fill my time and mind up such that I avoid some bad patterns. |

I don't need an ati-drug not to take illegal drugs; I just don't. However, I do enjoy getting light from Gin and Tonic now and again.
Additionally, trying a few illegal drugs is on my list of things to do, but for the reprocussions. I believe Bill did a survey about that...a top ten list or something. I would also like to have a threesome with 2 top-notch hookers after taking 2 viagras, but again...reprocussions. |

My Motto is "JUST SAY YES!!!" Actually I no longer use drugs..at least illegal ones.. Mainly because of the expense... Would kill for a legalized form of cocaine though... Great weight loss drug...back when I was using it, went from 250 to 175 pounds and stayed there as long as I used... it was great... |
