I'm not entirely sure what kindergarten is. If it's like nursery, then between 3 and 4. If playschool, 2 and 3, I think. |

That's weird you don't have kindergarten over there, especially cause kindergarten is a german word and we have it over here and obviously in the U.S too..... hmmmm. |

Why is it odd because it's a German word? I've just wikied; I thought playgroup and nursery are two entirely different things. They're not, but a nursery is more formal. So we do have our parallels. |

I calculate... 5 and 2 months.
I ended up staying back in 1st grade, so maybe they should have waited until I was 6 and 2 months. |

I checked 5 since that was the youngest, but I was actually 4 and a half. |

If I had gone to kindergarten, than I would know how old I would have been. Haven't got a clue. |

Not sure now - 5-something I guess. Kindergarten didn't work out -- I refused to lie down to take a nap for one thing. |

I was a little more than 5 and 10 months..
I'm actually quite old for my grade. I mean, for cryin' out loud, when I started school at nearly six, there were kids who weren't even 5 yet!
Cut offs are always going to be completely arbitrary..but the bad thing about the one here was you couldn't override it at all..
I mean, I'm ok with what grade I'm in..it's just the age difference bothers me immensely..Although not nearly as much as the kids who were born in October of 91 and are therefore pretty much a year younger than me that are in my grade..Oh well, I'd rather start college when I'm 18 almost 19 than when I'm 17 almost 18. |
