They have something to tell someone else, that they don't want other people judging them negatively for saying. |

Not really, at least.... not always.
I'm more likely to think that when they laugh. |

The freaky nerve in my back which twinges when someone is close. I don't know how the hell that happens. Someone whispering sets it off. |

Libraries. |

Sounds like a real weeshta. |
LindaH |
 Funny.
But I noticed that people don't whisper in libraries anymore. They talk in a normal or quiet-normal conversational tone. |
Enheduanna | | (reply to LindaH) posted 28-Jun-2008 12:28pm |
I think it depends on the library. The one I go to the most, it seems like people don't talk at all. |
Crayons |
Lucky. Our library is right next to our high school so there's an abundance of idiot teenagers wrestling and/or making out. Very little reading. |

I tend to use university libraries, and I tend to go during off-peak hours.I'm sure the local public libraries are a totally different scene. |

If you don't have anything positive to say, whisper it. |

I was just talking to my mom about this! I think it's total bullcrap.
Even the librarians speak loudly.

It depends on who's doing the whispering, but usually I think it must be something secretly important! |

Well if someone is looking right at you when they're whispering in someone's ear, chances are that they're talking about you! |

I hate that. It is just that "hypocrisy" is a word I wouldn't have thought of, I'd would have gone with "fudging rude" |

If they were whispering and pointing at "That lady over there that's rude" then it would be hypocrisy
