| Melf | posted 23-Jun-2008 3:08am Cake. How could it be a pie? |
| Pomeranian | (reply to Melf) posted 23-Jun-2008 3:30am If pumpkin pie is a pie then why is cheesecake also not a pie? |
| ausfox | posted 23-Jun-2008 5:03am Cake |
| kirst | posted 23-Jun-2008 5:09am Neither. It's a dessert. |
| Melf | (reply to Pomeranian) posted 23-Jun-2008 5:15am I never said pumpkin pie is a pie |
| Melf | (reply to Pomeranian) posted 23-Jun-2008 5:24am A pizza pie isn't a pie, is it? |
| bill | posted 23-Jun-2008 7:30am You just keep on trying till you run out of cake |
| bill | posted 23-Jun-2008 7:30am It's a floorwax! |
| they | posted 23-Jun-2008 7:35am It's a pie.
Like Pumpkin, Key Lime, and Meringue. |
| moviesnob | posted 23-Jun-2008 11:24am Pie! And now I really want one. |
| Enheduanna | posted 23-Jun-2008 11:39am I would say it's a cake if the crust is only on the bottom and it's a pie if the crust comes all the way up the sides. Or it's a cake if it's made in a cake pan and a pie if it's made in a pie pan. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Pomeranian) posted 23-Jun-2008 11:43am Cheesecake can stand on its own without crusts on the side. Pumpkin pie can't. If a cheesecake needs crust on the sides to stay whole, then I'd say it's a pie. But traditional cheesecake only has crust on the bottom. I'm sure there's some technical definition about ratios of liquids to solids as well. |
| Iseult | posted 23-Jun-2008 11:59am It's delicious, that's what it is. |
| Pomeranian | (reply to Melf) posted 23-Jun-2008 5:12pm that's true! is pumpkin pie a cake or a pie? |
| Pomeranian | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 23-Jun-2008 5:12pm wait, which is pie and which is cake?
(I can't believe you strung that many words together and didn't make a gay joke!) |

| Enheduanna | (reply to Pomeranian) posted 23-Jun-2008 5:47pm The pie has crust up the sides and the cake has crust only on the bottom.
Pie is obviously gayer. I didn't think you'd need it spelled out for you. |
| cerealkiller | posted 23-Jun-2008 6:50pm All I know is cheesecake is the most awful thing I've ever eaten. |
| Crayons | posted 23-Jun-2008 7:27pm You know what it is?
Good. |
| stellarlove21 | posted 23-Jun-2008 8:23pm I believe cheesecake is a pie because it has a crust, unlike cakes. The filling (cream cheese) has a thick texture rather than a fluffy one, like a lot of cakes. |
| LindaH | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 23-Jun-2008 10:14pm The flavor or the texture? |
| Pomeranian | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 23-Jun-2008 11:59pm you're wrong. Pies are served at 4th of July parties cakes are served at commitment ceremonies ergo Q.E.D. cakes are gayer. I have a phd in gayness don't question it. |
| jess82091 | posted 24-Jun-2008 12:57am Ha, this is funny...it's neither a cake or a pie, it's a cheesecake. How could it be anything other than what it is? |
| jess82091 | posted 24-Jun-2008 1:00am Although, I do think it more closely resembles a pie, but nonetheless, it's still a cheesecake. |
| Pomeranian | (reply to bill) posted 24-Jun-2008 2:21am this was a triumph
I'm making a pie here ... huge success! |
| Biggles | posted 24-Jun-2008 6:57am Neither - it's a cheesecake. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Pomeranian) posted 24-Jun-2008 11:41am I will defer to your greater wisdom and experience in this matter. |
| cloudhugger | posted 24-Jun-2008 3:13pm oh man....it says pie, but it eats like a cake. I'm gonna say pie.
edit: I am so confused. It says cake, but it eats like a pie, smells like a pie, looks like a pie... therefore it's pie. |
| cerealkiller | (reply to LindaH) posted 24-Jun-2008 4:57pm Flavor. Yuck. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 24-Jun-2008 11:24pm Cheesecake is a pie or maybe a turd |
