Hate either, but I guess I would take Pumpkin. |
Melf | | posted 23-Jun-2008 2:19pm |
I've not tried either of them. I've tried neither of them. I haven't tried either of them. I have tried neither of them. Each I haven't tried. Each I've not tried.
The English language is weird. |

Mmmmm. Maple Pumpkin Pie.
1-1/2 cups pumpkin puree (canned plain pumpkin, available at grocery stores)
1/2 cup maple syrup
1-1/2 cups milk
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp salt
9" pie shell (bottom crust only)
Put pumpkin puree in a large bowl. Add wet ingredients. Mix until smooth. Stir in dry ingredients. Combine thoroughly. Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake for 40 minutes at 425 until filling is firm and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool before serving. |

I'm not sure I could tell the difference... I picked Sweet Potato Pie because it's less common in my life.
Shouldn't it be called Sweet Potato Cake?! |

I've only tried pumpkin pie and it wasn't bad, but I'd like to try sweet potato pie too so I'll go for that. |

Ack, you're here already - just as I edited it to make it sound less mean! Oops |

Haha, I am inscrutable. Which isn't the right word, but it still sounds right. |

Pumpkin pie all the way. Sweet potato pie sucks, mainly eaten by black people. |

I don't like pumpkins nor pumpkin pies for that matter.
I absolutely hate sweet potatoes. I never tried sweet potato pie, but I think I'd dislike it.
Hence, I'm going with pumkin pie. |

I hope this isn't going to influence anyone here to live on just ne thing...
pumpkin pie.
It would be interesting to see a demographic advanced stat for this. I'm thinking south would be sweet potato and north would be pumpking.
Out west they would probably want tofu pie that tastes like...something other than tofu pie. |

Pumpkin..although Sweet Potato is good too; we had both last Thanksgiving.
As a rule of thumb, potatoes are amazing..Not really a rule though, eh |

Around here, pumpkin pie is the traditional Thanksgiving dessert. I've never seen a "Sweet Potato Pie", but I've been led to believe that they usually follow a meal of hog jowls, chitterlings, turnip greens, black-eyed peas, grits... |
