I don't know. The one on the pavement in front of the house might be. The trees in the back garden are conifers. So I could reach around them, but I'd lose all the skin on my arms in the process. |

Yeah, Esther. |

What kind of tree is it? |

Not here in our marina. There are lots of trees but none with a trunk that large. Not sure about our house in Georgia. It's possible that there's one near us. |

We have several old oak trees. They're a pain to clean up after in the fall, though. |

I haven't ever tried to get my arms around the tree out back, although I don't think it's that big. But there are plenty of huge trees in Golden Gate Park, which is only a few blocks away from me. |

I agree!
It was hard for me to word this.

I don't know. I live in an apartment complex that has plenty of trees around, and I haven't tried to hug all of them. |

I'm not sure what kind of oak they are, but between leaves and acorns I'm really fed up with them, lovely as they are. |

I'm sure there is..but I haven't been back there to try..We used to have alot more trees..including a large one in the front..but after the hurricane we cut a lot of the ones in the back down and the one in the front..Our backyard..back in the day used to look like a forest, so I'm sure there would have been such a tree there then. |

We also get a lot of dropped dead branches and so many leaves, it's just crazy.
The plus side is the squirrels. I love my little squirrels. |

I don't know. I'll ask my dad in the morning.
Oh, and squirrels (alongside giraffes) are my favourite animal |

I know some cute men that are to big to put my arms around |

I feed mine shelled peanuts and little boxes of raisins that they like to chew open.
We had a litter of babies this year... and they are already grown up. |

It's not too big, but it has too much stuff growing close to it. |

Yep. It's a much appreciated tree. |

Yes, at the cottage there is a walnut tree aching for my arms again. |

The squirrels are *really* cute and fluffy. Many people think they're vermin, but I love them, along with the chipmunks. And I think it's hilarious how chipmunks scold you with that loud squeak when you get too close. |
they | | (reply to Jody) posted 20-Jun-2008 10:07am |
My yard is infested with squirrels and chipmunks. There are good trees for the squirrels and the chipmunks live under the shed and in the flower beds. I feed them all through the winter, so they'd be stupid not to stay here with me
It's hard to get attached to them though... We have a cooper's hawk or three... we're really not sure if it's always the same one -- but he stalks our neighborhood. We've had some disappear, probably due to the hawk. The hawks are beautiful, but I wish they would stick to mourning doves instead of mama squirrels.
I have video on my youtube of one of the babies playing... I'll send you the link if you're interested. |

I don't have any trees. I don't own any real estate. I live in an apartment building. It takes up all the land on which it is situated. There's a little park across the street. I've never tried hugging any of the trees there. |
Crayons | | posted 20-Jun-2008 9:41pm |
Used to be, I always used to climb it. |

1 or 2, but not more than that. |

Across the street there is a pine tree.
But I haven't hugged it lately, hang on I'll be right back.......................................................well I could touch fingers. does that count? |
