| Iseult | posted 13-Jun-2008 3:36pm No, but it's not a definitive no. Generally not. |
| dab | posted 13-Jun-2008 3:50pm I'd like to think I would, given the right circumstances, but it'd be quite difficult. |
| Melf | posted 13-Jun-2008 4:08pm No, I don't like lying at all. I also wouldn't swear on the Bible. |
| Crayons | posted 13-Jun-2008 7:17pm Yes. If I'm going to lie, I'm going to lie and that's it. But if I'm in court, I'd probably be too scared to act believably. |
| romkey | posted 13-Jun-2008 8:21pm I would not casually lie under oath. However, I can imagine several situations where I might. |
| LJD | posted 13-Jun-2008 10:54pm No |
| LindaH | posted 14-Jun-2008 2:24am Depends on how much the defendant is willing to pay me. |
| they | posted 14-Jun-2008 7:34am Fudge the bible. |
| bill | posted 14-Jun-2008 7:45am Generally, no. Though, given the right conditions, I might. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 14-Jun-2008 12:05pm No never would I lie under oath never |
| Enheduanna | posted 14-Jun-2008 12:32pm Honestly, yes, I can imagine there might be situations in which I would. In general, though, I probably wouldn't. |

HAha |
| Gomezy3k | posted 15-Jun-2008 11:22am Well probably would if forced to, but would prefer to say answer NO when sworn in... Unfortunately, I am not sure what would happen if you said No... Don't think they allow you to in court without being punished for it... |
| Biggles | posted 16-Jun-2008 10:36am For certain causes, yes. |
| RainingFeathers | posted 16-Jun-2008 7:15pm In general, no. However, there are 2 people I would lie for under oath if I knew that it would protect them. |
| CarolL | (reply to they) posted 17-Jun-2008 11:41pm > Fudge the bible.
So, would you affirm? |
| they | posted 18-Jun-2008 7:45am But I can think of reasons why I might lie. I'm not only anti-bible... I'm also anti-government. |
| midagehippie | posted 6-Jul-2008 10:13am depends on the circumstances...if I believed the process was a witch hunt, bullcrap, or an attempt to railroad someone...yes! AND I HAVE! In the military, they were trying to hang responsibility for something on a guy I KNEW had no responsibility in what happened...and my testimony kept him from being railroaded. The ONLY thing I have ANY regret for is that I knew who WAS responsible and HE never had to answer for it....I have seen that man a few times since and he can't even look me in the eye! |
| docgbrown | posted 25-Jul-2008 3:41pm Nawww |
| meowry | posted 22-Oct-2008 3:39pm It's a matter of principle. No I wouldn't. |
| Edenhallgirl | posted 22-Aug-2009 1:47pm Nope. Same when not under oath. (Exception: I lie/exaggerate outrageously when joking around.) |
