I buy more DVD's. They're cheaper. |

I buy DVDs. I don't enjoy the cinema at all. |

I probably go to the cinema with very slightly more frequency than I buy DVDs. Mostly I get DVDs from Netflix or watch movies that show on TV. I don't feel the need to own most movies, nor do I feel the need to see most movies in a theater. There's an awesome theater nearby now, though. Sundance bought it and redid it. It's got an adults-only (21+) balcony that you enter through a bar. It's got huge, comfy seats with tables next to them. You can bring in whatever you want to eat and drink. Now that it's an option, my SO and I will probably go see movies a little more often. |

I buy DVDs more than I go to the cinema. There is rarely anything I want to see at the cinema. I don't buy DVDs of the moment either, I'm trying to build up a half-decent collection. |

i don't really buy dvd's any more than usual. i belong to netflix and that is how i see most movies except those that i feel a great need to see in the theater. |

we have an older theater in town that is similar to that except for the cushy chairs..... they are old fashion theater seats but they have tables between every other and you can buy wine beer, pizza, sandwiches, and the regular movie snack foods. it is a great way to see a movie!

I've bought about 20 DVDs in the past year and been to the cinema maybe 3 or four times. In the previous 2 years I bought no DVDs and didn't visit the cinema even once. Prior to that, I never bought any DVDs, but went to the cinema sporadically. |
Galomorro |
I haven't gone to the cinema in many years so would have to say I buy more, though I only buy them occasionally. Going to a theatre is too expensive and uncomfortable with all the noisy kids, etc. I usually just rent from Netflix. |

Neither - I see all the films I want online... |

Why are there no options?
I tend to buy DVD series more than movies as we don't English language tv in a timely fashion here in Hong Kong. As for movies...I tend to buy children's movies on DVD for Claire & James. Don't buy that many regular movies...my husband sees them all on the plane. If it's something I REALLY want to see, then I go to the cinema. I guess I'm not that much of a movie fan. |

I tend to take DVDs out of the library whenever possible. If I really like the movie, I'll buy it 2nd hand on Amazon. |

I buy DVDs and watch all the movies right here at home , I have Turner Classic Movies as well hundreds of
movies all at home on Comcast Cable |

Going to the movies is tantamount to torture these days since you can't even go to an art-house film and expect people to act in a courteous way anymore. Does that sound snobby to you: GOOD because it's mouthbreathers like you that are the disease that is killing the movie going experience. Bunch of animals. |
| RainingFeathers | | posted 10-Jun-2008 11:20am |
I go to the theatre more. I don't ever buy DVDs, and lots of my friends enjoy going to the movies, so I tag along with them. I just saw The Strangers the other night (the late show, which was a very stupid idea...I haven't slept much since then). |

I'm more likely to go to the cinema, but I don't do that very often nowadays. I haven't even been to see Indiana Jones (although I did see Sex and the City - it was BAD!) |
cerealkiller | | posted 10-Jun-2008 7:19pm |
I can't remember what year it was that I was last in a movie theater. I already answered your other survey that I've only purchased one DVD in my life. I see no need for either. |

I buy DVD's now........... I find going to a movie theater too expensive. You could buy a DVD for the price of a ticket that could entertain your whole family.
The last movie I seen at a theater was "the 300" |

I buy from Amazon too. But, recently I tried to "add" a credit card # to my account & then I was unable to get back to my regular account. GOD I miss it. I have to go there today & try & fix or undo what I've done. That'll teach me to try & fix something that isn't broken.

Because, this survey creator is NEW & doesn't know how we oldbies feel about OPTIONS.

You must live in California (L.A. /Riverside/ OC area?
|
| Jody | | (reply to Cleo) posted 13-Jun-2008 2:26pm |
Definitely try to clear that up. I've gotten oodles of second-hand books, DVD's, and CD's, all in great shape. In fact, I'm noting a trend where towns are raising library funds by selling discards from the library - books and DVDs that are in pretty good shape! Very cool way to recycle and support a library at the same time. |
| kirst | | (reply to Cleo) posted 13-Jun-2008 8:34pm |
Ha! I did kind of figure that out. |
| Cleo | | (reply to Jody) posted 13-Jun-2008 9:19pm |
Yeah, that IS a cool way to support a library!!! |
| Cleo | | (reply to kirst) posted 13-Jun-2008 9:25pm |
We should just bonk them on the head!!!
NO! Better to keep asking where the OPTIONS are everytime they make a survey.
Ha! Or better yet, lets harass them in Qual................... that'll learn them! Dang Newbies! !!!!

with Cleo and Survey Central
So yes now I do understand why you mentioned Turner Broadcasting and some people in Colorado they
cannot get this at all?
I am one of the lucky few who can get Turner Broadcasting |

Oh plus you probably have heard already in 2009 everything will be switched over to High Definition and plenty
of people are going to lose their television signal if they have not upgraded by now
yes to High Def. or else?
You need a special cable box or maybe you subscribe already to either satellite or cable and you would not
have any problems at all with your television or you might need a new television |
| Cleo |
I don't have HD but I do have cable so I'm okay in that area. |
| JessicaWoman99 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 25-Jun-2008 7:01pm |
Me i have High Definition on my television and through the cable box Comcast and I just love it soo cool
to have High Def.
Like wow what a picture and picture perfect |

I can't afford it right now...... maybe in a year or two when ti comes down in price. |

now and keeps getting better |

a 21 inch just right for me compared to what i had before a small 13 inch television? hee hee now i can see
what is really on my television instead of small objects
my eye sight is so bad
