No. My dad does it. No way it still works after twenty years or so. |

I have done this. When I was in college we had to get up at an ungodly hour to prepare for nursing clinicals and I would set my clock 15min fast so I could get there in time. When the alarm went off I sometimes thought "Oh, I've got 15 more minutes." and it didn't work. |

No, not intentionally. |

This is really not something I'd do. |

I don't, but my father sets clocks five minutes ahead. |

Some comedian had a really funny bit about this. Can't remember who it was though... |

No, it wouldn't trick me. |

I have in the past, but mostly I try to set clocks to be as accurate as possible now.... unless I'm feeling lazy, then I may just let them slide. On my computers I use a service that sets them to be accurate. For clocks in the house, some just stay accurate, others (wind ups) I need to adjust sometimes (which I kind of enjoy). It's those that need adjustment that I tend to let slide sometimes. But, you were really asking if I do this intentionally.... I think I may have when I was younger. My wife did this for longer than me, but I think she mostly doesn't do it anymore either now. I don't use an alarm clock, so that may be relevant as well. I just wake up when I wake up, usually earlier than I need to. |

I've always thought this is dumb. How do you fool yourself? |

Yes, I used to do this until I realized how retarded it was.
I really want my watch to be accurate, because if it isn't, than I very well could be running terribly late. |

I set my watch by WWV Fort Collins CO. once a week, It's accurate to within a second. |

Sort of, but not quite. I keep my clock a few minutes fast. I always know it's fast, but I never remember by how much, so I just treat it as though it is right. It gives me a little buffer, which I like, especially if I hit the snooze an extra time. I used to keep my watch a little fast, but when I'm teaching it's better to have it match the time on the classroom clocks, so it's more accurate now. |

i do that but only 5 minutes ahead, however i should try 15. |
| aquawolfy | | posted 27-May-2008 4:15pm |
Yeah I do it every time school starts again to help get me back in tempo. |

I have done this but it doesn't work because mentally I make the correction and I know what time it really is. I do not change my clocks for daylight savings time, it is such a pain changing all my clocks and I know what time it is, but is screws with people when they look up and see the time an hour less (which works out good for me and my dates have to be home early). |

i keep my clock 5 min ahead in my car, that way I always I have time when stuck in traffic |

I've known people to do this and I've always thought it was a bit dense. |

Years ago, I used to set my bedroom alarm clock 10 minutes fast to spur me out of bed faster/earlier. But the fact is I always subtracted the 10 minutes in my head. I still use that same clock, but I have it set to normal time. I have to stop myself from subtracting ten minutes, still, after several years. |

Uh no I do not do this because i have plenty of time |

Trying to fool yourself is like sneaking out of the house when you are the only one that lives there |
