| Melf | posted 22-May-2008 3:18pm One. It's, uh, lingual. I can't programme, and I can't speak any other language. I know the smallest smattering of French and German, but I'm intending to learn Russian over the summer. |
| RGirl | posted 22-May-2008 5:35pm Just the one. I can read a little French. |
| Enheduanna | posted 22-May-2008 5:56pm I know two different types of languages--two Indo-European and several Semitic. Within the Indo-European family, I know one West Germanic (English) and one Romance (French). Within the Semitic language family, I know one Eastern Semitic (Akkadian) and a few Northwest Semitic, including Hebrew, Aramaic, Ugaritic, Moabite, and Phoenician. Some of these are very scantily-attested languages, so "knowing" them means I can read the handful of existing inscriptions.
Pedantic? Me? I have no idea what you're talking about. |
| Galomorro | posted 22-May-2008 7:04pm Just English. I know SOME Portuguese and a few words in both Spanish and French, but I would not call this "knowing" the language. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 23-May-2008 12:05am I only know one language english is all i know |
| bill | posted 23-May-2008 7:46am I know some computer language and some human languages. So, 2? Maybe, there are more, but it's hard to think of langauge types off hand. |
| dab | posted 23-May-2008 8:04am May I divide computer programming languages into different types? Types like imperative, functional, assembly, and object oriented? |
