| jettles | posted 11-May-2008 8:43am i drink lattes when i am out at a coffee shop. i usually go to starbucks to read or meet a friend. i get a vanilla or hazelnut latte. i don't drink regular coffee and i never drink coffee at home, only tea. |
| romkey | posted 11-May-2008 9:34am I roast my own coffee using aged Sumatra beans... it's actually really easy to roast coffee if you have a coffee roaster... the green beans cost half what roasted coffee costs and keep for a year no loss in quality. Pop the beans in, it takes about 13 minutes to roast (it's like a hot air popcorn popper), and then they're done. They keep their top flavor for about a week after roasting. Most coffee in stores is far too old, especially the pre-ground stuff; it's no wonder it tastes like cat piss.
If I go out for coffee I'll usually have a skim latte. |
| they | posted 11-May-2008 9:38am I'm always trying new kinds of coffee ... depending what's on sale. I like a good cup of fresh gas station coffee...but my SO (who is a coffee snob that used to work at Starbucks) is always saying I'm gross for drinking it.
I personally think Starbucks is gross. The way I drink it is just with heavy half/half, no sugar. |
| Melf | posted 11-May-2008 10:00am I don't. Bleh. |
| Galomorro | posted 11-May-2008 11:47am Pod coffee for a pod coffee maker. Anything that's not flavored (because of the sugar and preservatives in it) or decaf. |
| Enheduanna | posted 11-May-2008 12:21pm If I'm buying coffee, I'll usually get a cup of plain old coffee or a latte, occasionally a cappuccino. I like mochas and things like that, too, but I try to avoid the drinks that are high-calorie and expensive. |
| Irene007 | posted 11-May-2008 3:48pm I don't usually drink it so when I do it's decaf |
| ausfox | posted 11-May-2008 4:58pm If I drink coffee, then I order a flat white, a cappuccino or a latte |

| cloudhugger | posted 11-May-2008 5:29pm I prefer Boca Java brand. Target has a pretty good line now, I tried one of them (organic)and it was very good.
Coca Cola Black kicks me nice too. It's coca cola and coffee in the same glass bottle.....oh yeah... |
| cloudhugger | (reply to they) posted 11-May-2008 5:33pm The coffee shop I go to has the Sarbuck quality of service and choices, but without the gross coffee.
Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks. Anyway, I made up a drink that starts out as a caramel or mocha lattee, but half the milk and top it off with coffee. It's just damn good. There is nothing else like it so far that I've seen. I wish there was, it needs a name. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 11-May-2008 6:46pm I love instant coffee Folgers in my cup with some Coffee Mate , I just love to flavor up my coffee |

Coffee from the grocery store isle is even better like Maxwell House and Folgers or those International Coffee,s are really good like the Swiss or Germany |
| they | (reply to cloudhugger) posted 11-May-2008 7:43pm What's up with people who drink Starbucks? They all seem to frown on any other kind of coffee.
I have a friend who manages one and she's a total snob about it as well. |
| Strider | posted 11-May-2008 10:33pm mochachino or iced mochachino |
| kirst | posted 11-May-2008 10:54pm Either a tall skim latte or a tall skim cappuccino. Never larger...the espresso to milk ratio never tastes right in larger sizes. When I'm back in Georgia with my Rancilio Sylvia, I make coffees that are a mix between a latte and a cappuccino. I will also drink espresso shots in Macau and "normal" coffee at Vietnamese restaurants. |
| bill | posted 12-May-2008 5:04am I like coffee with cream. I was into lattes (and sometimes cappuccino) a while back, but I got over it realizing that really I just like coffee with cream (half & half is OK, but milk is not as good). I have a Tassimo (pod-based machine, makes lattes and cappuccino), which I was into back then, but something is not right with it now and I haven't used it in months. I usually get a "small", even at Starbucks, I refuse to say "tall". I say "small" and they can translate that into their absurd size names. Anyway, ordering an espresso drink usually takes a while and I don't like standing around so much. Also, they heat the milk, so often I can't drink it for a while, which is annoying. Coffee with cream tends to go better (faster, not as hot) and tastes about the same to me. It costs less too. Mostly, I drink coffee I make at home which is instant coffee, with light cream. I know, instant coffee is suppose to be the worst, but I like it and it's really convenient/quiet. My wife is usually asleep in our bedroom about 10 feet from the kitchen when I make coffee, so stealth coffee-making is a priority for me. |

> all seem to frown on any other kind of coffee. > > I have a friend who manages one and she's a total > snob about it as well. It's the drug addict in them talking. There is no other fix good enough for their condition. I am convinced there is trickery behind the kick. I'm sure the brains behind the sign looked into which little chemical they could boost up to create an army of arrogant addicts that will surely pay more twice or more a day. And those ass's surely set the precedence for the uppity price. I bet if your friend had to 'dry out' from Starbucks and was forced to drink a quality cup of coffee for a period of time, she may be able to see the addiction Starbucks has over people. I drink it when there is no other option. I feel my body race and my brain kick in. It's definetly stimulating something in the brain, more than the body. I can tell, through years of research and practice what a drug feels like in the body |

| harry | posted 12-May-2008 3:21pm I always liked the smell of brewing coffee, but never acquired the taste for it (sorry, Starbucks). My grandmother used to make a great spice cake with coffee flavored icing. |
| Biggles | posted 12-May-2008 5:20pm I don't drink coffee. Caffeine does bad things to me. |

| cloudhugger | It feels good to look them right in the face and NOT say Graahnn-daayy. They need to be humbled imho. |
| bill | (reply to they) posted 16-May-2008 8:19am Gas station coffee is often pretty good. Many of the places around here use carafes and a somewhat frou-fruo brand too ("Green Mountain"). Often, there's a choice of flavors too.
The worst coffee I've had has been from a local diner which had a standard round glass pot on a burner for who knows how long. It had a kind of stale/burnt flavor to it. |
| bill | (reply to they) posted 16-May-2008 8:24am > I usually get a medium coffee in a large cup, so I have room for cream.
would you like some coffee with your cream? |
