To lie. What good is the truth if the other guy has a better lawyer. I do not condone lying, but it seems the lawyers do it all the time.
Even in the instance of being not guilty. the lawyer will encourage the defendant to say they did the act to guarentee a lessor sentance. It doesn't matter if the lawyers know whther or not the person is telling the truth, they might just not care and are thinking of their record, not the defendants'. |

The legal system probably encourages people to lie i would have to say , being truthful and honest will get
you into plenty of trouble |

I think it encourages people to lie and I think this may be a pretty serious flaw. Though, perhaps, there's nothing better. |

A guide we had in Egypt talked about their legal system. He said it was quite different from what he knew of ours. Judges there would mostly just face down the accused and get them to confess. He said it worked in almost every case. Often they would cry and apologize right on the spot. While I have my doubts about such a system, I have to admit it encourages people to tell the truth more than ours seems to. |

Human nature encourages people to lie to protect themselves. Our legal system was designed by humans. Ergo...
I think some people tend to be more truthful and some tend to be more mendacious. The legal system doesn't have much to do with how people actually behave in court. |

I'm not sure, but I think he said that never happened. |

Our legal system, like most systems of rules, encourages people not to get caught. Lying is more frequently a way to do that than telling the truth. |

Our legal system in itself is a lie. |

My experiences as a juror lean toward 'lying'. We had to trust what turned out to be trick photography of a billboard in question, and weren't permitted to view the thing with our own eyes.
I would describe our sytem of law as 'Champion System', not unlike settling disputes between nobles with jousting knights.
Over two centuries that has led to law favoring businesses over individuals, and mega-corporations over small businesses, because the best most-expensive lawyers form legal precedent. It's no wonder that corporations can now claim immenent domain for 'public use', outweighing the Bill of Rights right to be secure in our homes. |

The governments made lots of lies! So I don't think they're trying to tell us to be honest. As long as its for their benefit. |
