| cloudhugger | posted 3-May-2008 7:18pm Pete. It was my moms and I was only 2 or 3 years old. He was a black toy poodle. That was an awesome dog. We had to get rid of him because my sister was allergic. |
| Galomorro | posted 3-May-2008 8:25pm It wasn't exactly a "pet" and my father thought it was good fun to take a hose to it when it was hiding under a car and squirt it. His name was "Blackie" and he just hung out sometimes. I wasn't allowed to have pets as a younger kid. Later my own pets were called "Harlequin" (a cat), "Noel" (cat), "Moon" (cat), "Baby" (cat)," "Pig" (cat), 2 dogs (Jeep and Damian) -- all these at around the same time when I was older and not living at home. |
| Cleo | posted 3-May-2008 9:30pm It was a pet rock! Names ROCKY, ha! |

| bill | posted 4-May-2008 6:47am Waldo Supercat ... a stray my brother brought home. I'm not sure if it even counts, since it was really an outdoor cat and may have simply belonged to someone else. The name was a reference to something from our childhood (in the 70s), but I can't remember what and searching yielded nothing (wow). Maybe the name was a mix of things... anyway, Waldo was hit by a car and died tragically. Somehow, we found it on the other side of the suburban development where we lived. Injured by the side of the road. Waldo hissed at us when we tried to help. Eventually, we got him to the vet, but he didn't make it. I think he was orange and perhaps white, calico like but not much black. |
| Melf | posted 4-May-2008 7:35am Princess Diana's the first one I remember. Unfortunate name, I suppose; she ran away on Christmas Day. |
| Crayons | posted 4-May-2008 6:40pm I'm still on my first pet, 4 year old Nick. ![]() |
| LindaH | posted 5-May-2008 1:26am Tinkerbell, I think. |
| CarlHalling | posted 5-May-2008 4:50am The first pet and one of only two we ever had was a goldfish. It was partly named after the store where we bought him, Peter's I think it was called. |
| Iseult | posted 5-May-2008 8:42am That bird. I think his name was Kojo. Anyway, I ended up killing it by mistake. |
| Irene007 | posted 5-May-2008 10:37am A dog called Peppi. I remember asking my dad when we were moving to town and leaving him behind with the neighbours if he was ever going to get big. He was full grown but I was young and stupid... |
| Irene007 | (reply to bill) posted 5-May-2008 10:40am > Waldo Supercat ...
Ha! We had a Newfoundlander called Waldo The Wonder Dog! Big dummy - afraid of thunder and water!! But a sweet dog... Just too big. |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 5-May-2008 10:41am > That bird. I think his name was Kojo. Anyway, I ended up killing
> it by mistake. How did you do that? |
| cerealkiller | posted 5-May-2008 1:38pm At 3 I had a dog named Dally, a Dalmation. He kept running away any chance he could so we ended up finding another home for him. |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 5-May-2008 3:58pm I lined its cage with paper so it would be easier to clean its crap. The bird ended up eating the paper, getting sick, and dying.
How was the game? Was everyone pissed when Canadians lost? I thought there were going to be riots. |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 5-May-2008 6:05pm Naw... the partiers just peetered out quietly. There would have been a riot if they had won!! It was a good game though - lots of action, sadly... |
| jettles | posted 5-May-2008 6:18pm dog named schatzie |
| Iseult | (reply to Irene007) posted 5-May-2008 8:15pm What time did you end up meeting your friend? |
| Irene007 | (reply to Iseult) posted 6-May-2008 12:05am I never saw him! I guess he didn't come to town after all. His friend (my mate?) called to let me know that he was back in Algeria from Paris and had spoken to him just before he called me and said that he's real interested in getting together. I'll call him when I get the information he asked for - that'll show him that I have contacts in the biz!! In the meantime; the pilot was practically begging me to bring talent to Algeria! We'll see! |
| Van | posted 9-May-2008 6:07pm A cat named Sylvester. |
| docgbrown | posted 14-May-2008 4:24am A black cat named 'Black Sambo' it wasn't always nice to me but I loved it a lot. It taught me how to treat cats and other animals |
| docgbrown | (reply to LindaH) posted 14-May-2008 4:27am > Tinkerbell, I think.
My best cat ever was a Tinkerbell. No others have come close for my siblings and I |
| smurf | posted 27-May-2008 9:21pm My first pet was a tabby cat called Topsy. I was devastated when she passed away Then we got another tabby cat and I was allowed to name her. I'd never named an animal before, and didn't know any "animally" names so I named her Block Puss We had to give her away a couple of years later ... and the people who took her didn't like her name! |

| Zang | posted 7-Jun-2008 4:40pm A black labrador named "Rip". |
| moviesnob | posted 30-Jun-2008 3:49pm A dog named Coca Bell. It was a yellow dog, I'm guessing a lab. I don't remember anything else about how long we had her or what happened to her. I remember accidently hitting her paw with the back door once, and she hollered something fierce. She was ok, though. |
| gaspeegal | posted 3-Mar-2009 10:34am A Spitz type dog, black and white, named Chipper. He bit me in the face when I was seven years old and disappeared shortly after. My Mom said that he went back to the "puppy farm". Yeah Right!! |
