There's a lot of things I think of that I'm not sure exist. I wish there was a home design program that was fun and easy to use. I'm sure there is, but I just haven't looked.

Yes, a freeware interactive "psychedelic" paint program called RAINBOX that I had many years ago on a much earlier Mac. I loved this program and recently tried to find it again. I found it and got in the first time, playing with all evening, but then the next day I could not get in at all -- the message was that it would only run in the "Classic" Mac mode, which I do not have on my G5. I do not know what I did the first time to make it run then. This is the only interactive such trippy program of its type -- you can go in and make all kinds of different moving and flashing designs. This one is just for fun, entertainment. So what I'd like to see is this guy make a new shareware interactive RAINBOX that will easily run on Leopard OS and current Macs. This is only one kind of program I'd love to see made available. Another would be a bunch of reasonably priced educational subjects -- various, hundreds of subjects, including herbal plant identification in color. Each one of the different programs would have a quiz in the back and they'd be audio as well as captioned. I used to have something like this many years ago too but can't find exactly this kind of software now; most are too expensive, the explanations of them are too vague, they're difficult to find online, not clear as to compatibility, etc. With the educational software I used to have like this, one was able to buy just one CD-Rom at a time and the price each wasn't too bad. Some of them now are hundreds of bucks. These I'm thinking of would be excellent for homeschoolers too.

I can't think of any particular software, although I can think of plenty of things that should be computerized and available online and aren't. It's not that the technology and software don't exist, though.

Maybe I didn't give it too much of a chance, but it felt like each language I tried out was being taught as though it's English with different words. There's not a big understanding of the fact that you have to start pretty much over in terms of how sentences are structured, it's just... words. I suppose it's alright for tourist language, though.

It might be the best way to go, but I also think it's not good enough for that title... if you get what I mean. Hence why my answer to the survey was 'a decent language teaching thingy' *smile*

Go check out Transparent Language online and see if you like what they have to offer in your chosen language. I used to have some of theirs -- need to get new ones to be compatible with my present computer. But anyway, LOVED this company.

I managed to download a free program from there called Before You Know It for Russian, and I've just learnt the seasons (Vremya Goda: Vesna, Leta, Osen', Zima) *grin* , nice one.

Test maker; load up your questions and answers and it will randomize your answers for each question and allow you to do sorting of the topics and stuff.
