What do they need? What do they like?
Although be careful you never know, everyone's different - people know I like chocolate, and keep buying me Ferrero Roche and I don't have the heart to tell them that I hate it.
However, no matter what it is, I'm sure they'll appreciate it. |

It would depend on the individual, but spa gift certificates sound the best to me. Something relaxing and a little frivolous. Definitely not a personal organizer--are you trying to tell your assistant to be more organized?! |

I'd buy a book, because I'm crape at buying gifts. |

Something else. The above are so ordinary. It depends on what they're like-what are their hobbies? You didn't say if they are male or female. Music downloads are always good, those cards you can get from the Apple store for iTunes-they come in prices from $15 on up. That is, if they like music and have an iPod (or similar player for the PC). |

I would use the person's personality as a basis in deciding what to buy for them. I pick what I think people are most likely to like. |

A paycheck should suffice. |

It would depend on what I thought my assistant would like, but if my assistant were a woman and it was intended to be an acknowledgement of their hard work rather than a major gift, I would go for a bunch of flowers. If it were intended to be anything more significant, I would probably try and think of something much more personal to them. |

From the way this written it assumes all assistants are female! I think that is gender prodigious! But I am a male and that’s ok us men need assisting.
But back to the question, I’d take her to a wonderful restaurants let her eat her fill, give her the best Champagne, and then take her home and bed her proper!
I’m kidding I was just thinking out load. Flowers I gave her flowers…….gee wiz!

There would be several factors I'd need to consider such as my assistant's gender, what they like, etc. The safest route would be to get them a gift card to a store that carries a variety of goods that would include food, clothing, books, movies, etc. That way there is a better chance of them finding what they really want. |

a slap on the ass... assistants love that |
LJD | | posted 27-Apr-2008 12:11pm |
Depends on the assistant, and interests. I'm assuming you're male, giving to a female. I would not buy an intimate gift, but a very generic gift. Flowers are always nice, a gift certificate to a spa, pedicure, something to pamper herself. As I've said it depends on the assistant. |

Visa Gift Cards/Gas Cards/Grocery Store Gift Cards
This is what my job has started offering as incentives. I've been enjoying it. Yesterday, I started a temporary 6 week shift change. I usually work days, but now I'll be working nights. Since I agreed to do it, I get a $100 grocery/gas gift card for each of the 6 weeks. I couldn't pass up over a month's groceries so I took the deal. |

Something else. Bah on that stuff. The only thing out of that list I would like would be the gift certificates for a place I frequent. Not some crap store it would cost me $20 in gas to get to.
I bought my assistant a cupcake carrier and it was the best gift. |

Hell yeah. I haven't worked out how much more an hour that works out to... because it's tax free. I'm pretty sure it's a hell of a lot better than a shift differential though.

Gifts should be selected specifically for the individual. |
