I once tried pouring the milk first. I think I must have been half asleep still. That sure didn't work.

I don't eat it. Never did get into cereal-eating, especially that dry, sugary stuff in boxes from supermarkets. I do like cooked oatmeal, cream of wheat and grits with butter and maybe other stuff on it but don't eat it very often.

I prepare it by informing the cereal that it's part of the circle of life.

Usually cereal first, then milk... but sometimes the reverse: if I'm trying to be quiet I will sneak around the kitchen, getting bowl and spoon, then surreptitiously open the 'fridge, pour the milk into the bowl, then take the cereal box with me to my office upstairs. Opening and pouring the cereal is really loud, so if I'm trying not to wake my wife up, I just relocate that part of the process to a remote location.

*laughing out loud* @ same time

Cereal, then milk. Very little milk. Because milk is not tasty. It's purpose is only to soften the VERY OUTER layer of each little cereal piece.

Cereal must be eaten quickly to avoid too much milk saturation. Milk should be poured out of each spoonful... and the resulting bowl of milk should be fed to kitties... who like sweetened milk.

I put the flax seed cereal (Trader Joe's) in a bowl, add cherries, walnuts, dried cranberries, then pour in almond milk.

I eat the cereal out of the box like when I watch TV and then I drink a glass of milk.

I also add a sliced banana on top for extra potassium.

I don't really eat cereal. Occasionally I'll have some oats or muesli with yoghurt, fruit and a drizzle of honey.

I boil some water, open the oatmeal packet, pour it in a bowl, add the water and stir. Then I put a small amount of milk on the oatmeal and stir it in and then I eat it.

I've been trying this the last couple of days - you are so right!
The milk tastes nicer (no kitties in this house) and it doesn't turn into a chore eating the cereal. Yay!

So... to be clear. You are using little milk, dumping it out of the spoon, and eating it fast... and then drinking the milk after?

Interesting twist. My kitties might eat my face while I sleep if I change my method..... I don't really like milk anyway *smile*

People pour milk in before their cereal? I did not know that.
