No. I can take extra strength tylenol to relieve discomfort. To me, the pill is basically worthless. |

I would hesitate because I can't swallow a pill. Then there's the grinding and and taste and the ew. |
Melf | | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:06pm |
Eh, few too many variables, but most likely I'd take the pill. |
they | | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:09pm |
Phenergan, Percoset, Demoral, Vicodin, etc.
Been there, done that.
Will do it again if I have to. |
Galomorro | | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:21pm |
Sure I would without hesitation. |
LindaH | | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:37pm |
Of course! I'd still look for something to fix whatever is wrong, though. Who would choose not to remove discomfort? |
Enheduanna | | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:53pm |
Absolutely. If there is also something that makes me healthier, I would take/do it. But if not, I'd be happy to at least feel better. |

That's how I found it.
A guy on another Forum I go to had it as his avatar and I stole/borrowed it. |

It's funny. It fudges with your mind. I like it |
jettles | | posted 20-Apr-2008 3:35pm |
i would take it and work on getting myself healthier through other means or in conjunction with my physician. most of the diseases that afflict us in the US are to a certain extent "self inflicted |

it didn't say what kind of discomfort, it may be something that tylenol won't touch
|
kcthedog | | posted 20-Apr-2008 4:52pm |
I would take it until I found something else.
Medicine should be used to relive discomfort even if it does not cure the ailment. Why would anyone remain in discomfort if relief is available? On the other hand dependence on pills while not seeking good medical treatment is not intelligent. |
JessicaWoman99 | | posted 20-Apr-2008 6:31pm |
Yes I would take medication prescribed to me by my doctor |

If there are no side effects and there's no treatment for the causes of the illness then why not? |
Enigma | | posted 20-Apr-2008 11:39pm |
How strange. I guess it would depend on how much of a weenie I am. If it takes away the discomfort but not the problem that would be kind of dangerous for the "out of sight out of mind" types. |

Sounds like my last illness. I knew there wasn't a cure and 'tuffed it out' until I started to lose work over it. Then I took the meds and soon got back to work. |

does the pill get me a bit high? then sure...otherwise i'll pass |
Iseult | | posted 21-Apr-2008 8:25am |
I have done so in the past, so yes. |
verouge | | posted 21-Apr-2008 9:26am |
Until I find something better, yeah I would take it if it kill the pain temporarily.. |
LJD | | posted 21-Apr-2008 6:15pm |
No.....you have to treat the whole body, and the root of the illness, not just put on a bandaid. |
| Cleo | | posted 22-Apr-2008 7:37pm |
I would! I'm a pill head from way back! |
RGirl | | posted 23-Apr-2008 5:40pm |
If I were miserable heck yeah and I'd take it until they found a cure. |

If the discomforts of the illness were significant and the pill had no major common side-effects that were worse (or as bad as) the discomfort from the illness, I would probably take the pill.
There are a lot of underlying conditions that we can't cure, or even hope to improve. Palliative care may be all that's on offer, but improving someone's quality of life shouldn't always be seen as second best to saving their life. |

I'd take the red pill!
Well, of course I'd take the pill. That's what pain medication is all about. During my period I'm still bloated, but I can't feel my cramps after a few Advil. Yay! |
