Pointless lamps. We have a lot of pointless lamps in our house. I don't much like stuff that's on the wall for the sake of having stuff on the wall, either. I don't like hanging photographs, or photographs about in general. I wouldn't have plasticy IKEA furniture, or anything trying to be chic. I don't think I'd have a coffee table. |

Probably that clunky retro 70's look. I'm still nauseated from it. The wanna-be hippy brown, orange and dirty yellow bell bottom look. Lots of owls...too many owls... |

Did we have a bean bag chair incident go badly once? |

I'd never have Danish Modern (my parents had it) or any other kind of ordinary furniture like they show in Sears catalogs for instance. I'd never have anything beige, white, brown, maroon, dark green, black, navy blue, pale anything in curtains, accessories, etc. Brown furniture ONLY if it's Mexican rustic or some other kind of rough "country" style, and none of that "blond" wood either. Absolutely no ordinary beds or those TV-lounge chairs. (I prefer loft beds or something else more unusual in a bed). I'd mix styles and have lots of bright colors. No common lamps, sofas, easy chairs, headboards, chests of drawers (unless VERY unusual), or fake "fur" seats on the toilet, its tank or on the floors; no carpets of any kind. |

Modern/Euro furniture with black, chrome, leather, etc. I like Victorian furniture best. |

I respect those that have different likes in furniture. Personally, I prefer traditional, conservative furniture. I like loose pillow, skirted sofas, I like cherry wood tables, Queen Anne; skirted tables; wing back chairs in my living room. For the family room, I like more tough furniture, wingback leather easy chairs, hardy sofas, conservative tables, glass front bookcases. |

bean bag chairs + cats and or kids = disaster
still have nightmares of the lil poly-foam beads...*shudders* |
cloudhugger | | (reply to justjulie) posted 22-Apr-2008 7:42am |
I thought that might be it. I have a plastic bag of those tiny micro beads I just bought, and somehow the cat must have used it as a nap place. I pick it up and micro beads went *poof* through invisible hole(s).. |

Crap that dont match. I dont think a maroon recliner & countryish pattern couch should be in the same room together. My mama has the most piss poor taste at matching & arranging furniture I've ever seen. |

I would never have lawn furniture in doors
kind of a "redneck kind of furniture" thingy |
| justjulie |
aren't those invisible holes fun? it's as if there is a constant vortex/black hole thingy around, that is starving and that really really enjoys the taste of packing peanuts and micro beads and legos and flour and bread crumbs and.. |

I thought so too, the lawn furniture. It would make me wince, but a friend of mine had one of those bench type swings, the one that is on it's own stand...it is awesome for watching TV. It was a really nice one tho, you hardly noticed it was for outside the way it was snuggled in the little TV room. I still wouldn't do it tho. I'd maybe take my tv room outside first |
