| Crayons | posted 19-Apr-2008 11:18pm That was like what, two years ago? About the same as I am now, reserved, hard time getting to know people, but as far as I'm concerned I'm better now than I was then. |

| LindaH | posted 19-Apr-2008 11:29pm Individualistic, but not rebellious. Not popular, but I had a few cool friends. I wasn't at all hyper. I liked playing with my tape recorder, going roller skating, hanging out with my sister, my cousins, and friends. I wasn't into looking cool. We were all just into being ourselves with no regard to appearance. |
| Galomorro | posted 19-Apr-2008 11:32pm I was a climber, that I remember most -- very active and outdoorsy -- climbing trees, roofs, etc. Introverted and a loner, as I am now. Sometimes disobedient, but in more of a passive way -- trying to do what I wanted to do but keep the adults from finding out so I could stay out of trouble. Hyper, school-hater, klutzy, hater of team sports. |
| ausfox | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:28am I was fairly shy, but not with my friends. I enjoyed reading a lot. |
| Melf | posted 20-Apr-2008 5:23am Quite weird, really. At high school I used to get in lots of arguments with teachers and I never did my homework (still don't) but my uniform was pretty much perfect and I didn't have many friends because I was a 'geek'. I spent most of high school trying to get away from what I was like as a preteen. It's ok at primary school because it means you know stuff, and that's kind of cool, in a way.
In my spare time I barely watched any films, but I did watch lots of kid's TV and read lots of crapty sci-fi (which I'm doing at the moment). I had minus dress sense, but nobody does then anyway. I wrote ludicrously long tales about people in fantasy worlds. I still have them in my room somewhere. I listened to pop at primary school (but that's ok, because it was the Spice Girls back then), followed Busted for a few months or so, and then discovered the Chilis. |
| Irene007 | posted 20-Apr-2008 8:37am ...a Tom Boy. Climbed trees higher than anyone, was stronger than most boys but I never would fight... |
| romkey | posted 20-Apr-2008 10:16am Introverted, bookish. Quiet. |
| jettles | posted 20-Apr-2008 11:52am shy and introverted, athletic, movie going, reading |
| Enheduanna | posted 20-Apr-2008 12:53pm I was a mostly-happy, somewhat-geeky kid. I was obedient, no more hyper than the average, never shy and not really popular. I was a good student. I liked to read and play games of make-believe. I liked playing with my friends. I already liked clothes quite a bit and was very adventurous in the outfits I put together. |
| llamamama | posted 20-Apr-2008 1:39pm Like I am now, except smaller..I probably read more then too..and played outside more..but thus is the changing of the times, eh?
I'm still pretty similar to myself then..Although I do understand jokes when you tell them..so that's a positive.. |
| BenSimpleton72 | posted 20-Apr-2008 4:28pm I was angry, kept to myself and a few friends. Outgoing when it came to hings I wanted. A little depressed. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 20-Apr-2008 6:28pm I was very popular as a teenage kid and had many friends |
| bill | posted 20-Apr-2008 7:01pm so... 12. um... that would be 7th grade, I guess. The year, 1979 or so. I was introverted, because I've always been introverted, I think. I was never popular, so I wasn't popular. obedient... on the surface a good boy, but I got away with stuff, never got caught. I think I may have started smoking pot in 7th grade, sneaking out at night with an older friend who lived down the street (it was lots of fun). I was probably into Pink Floyd The Wall. I knew how to solve Rubik's Cube (that probably says a lot -- kind of geeky, but sort of not too, less geeky than some of my friends). I often road my 10 speed bicycle to school, it was about a mile away. I was probably watching Star Blazers after school.
I think I was friendly with kirst around that time, we had a "study" class together or something like that. |
| paulyw | posted 20-Apr-2008 7:43pm I was a little hyper, disobedient, naughty at times, and also a smart-ass. |
| ihatespiders | posted 20-Apr-2008 9:38pm Looking for trouble...and finding it. |
| kcthedog | posted 20-Apr-2008 10:13pm I was as normal as any kid in the fifties; we lived in a make-believe world of post-war middle-class elite military families. I was the “Beaver” as in leave it to……… |
| Enigma | posted 20-Apr-2008 11:40pm An angel. |
| docgbrown | posted 21-Apr-2008 1:17am As a preteen I was inquisitive, only a little introverted, somewhat religious, obedient, wholesome and yet very sexually curious of the other gender. Then, I loved to sing, write lyrics, poetry, play with others (it didn't matter what) and participate in playground sports. Privately, I was fascinated by girls (my age and older) and perpetually in love with many of them and yet terrified for it to be made it to be known to them. It was during this time I figured out / learned that I could both fall in love with and make myself fall in love with nearly any girl or woman. This realization (that still holds some truth) shocked me at the time and was my big realization of that age. |
| judgescratch | posted 21-Apr-2008 11:58am Artsy loner. |
| cerealkiller | posted 21-Apr-2008 1:39pm introverted nerd. Popular mainly because I had more toys than anyone around. I was on the surface good, obedient never got into trouble. Just never got caught.
Main pleasures were blowing up model cars with fireworks or squirting lighter fluid on them and setting them on fire, throwing snowballs at cars and neighbors' windows, killing lightning bugs with baseball bats, pulling legs off grasshoppers, stoning squirrels and birds, masturbating in the back yard and other fun stuff like that. |
| LJD | posted 21-Apr-2008 6:38pm Obedient. I was an outgoing, calm person. We rode our bicycles, went to movies, went skating, I made paper dolls, and designed clothes for them, sang, loved to draw pictures. I also loved building tree houses. I loved climbing trees, I was athletic. . I worked as a babysitter at a very young age. We went to church every week, enjoyed all activities. We had good family friends, played games, we visited often. |
| Pomeranian | posted 22-Apr-2008 3:37am Not really that different from now as an adult |
| Jody | posted 22-Apr-2008 4:31pm nerdy and easily frightened |
| Lahdee | posted 22-Apr-2008 5:32pm average, I suppose. Not too popular but I had a small close group of friends. Not wild or disobedient. |
| they | posted 23-Apr-2008 8:41am I don't know.
Right now, I'm mostly remembering the bad stuff. |
| aquawolfy | posted 23-Apr-2008 4:43pm Really REALLY shy. But I've changed so much! |
| Van | posted 26-Apr-2008 5:36pm Kind of obnoxious. |
| RGirl | posted 29-Apr-2008 2:52pm Poor, unpopular, insecure, pathologically shy, surly, sarcastic, moody, angry, VERY angry due to alcoholic parents, ashamed, bitter. I was just getting into music, finding what my tastes were. I was a loyal friend. I like doing things with my hair and wished I had nicer clothes. Confused about understanding that I liked girls the way other girls liked boys but confused as to why I had a sense I was supposed to keep this quiet, confused as to why I had to hide it. Got good grades. Hated having started my period, hated the bras I now had to wear. I teased and bullied A LOT. I had just had a very traumatic experience with teachers which left traumatized, with a lot of self hatred and self loathing.
Bottom line, it was not pretty. |
| cloudhugger | posted 6-May-2008 7:02pm I was extremely shy. Very depressed. Psychologically a nightmare. I didn't like who I was. I rode my bike alot, and when I played I used mostly imagination. I was more in my head than most. I did have friends and I had alot of energy. Very athletic, I was faster than everyone. |
