Yes, and I'd have absolutely no qualms about it. If they were the ones 'in the wrong' before, I see nothing wrong with using them to your advantage now. It seems fair and justifiable to me. |
romkey |
No, but (aside from having no interest in it) I wouldn't be willing to make the compromises necessary to run a successful political campaign, anyway. |
Galomorro |
No. I couldn't do this. |
Melf |
I would never run for political office. However, no, I wouldn't become friendly with these people. I wouldn't start setting down one rule for me and another for the people before I'd even got there. |
Frostbrand |
I definitely wouldn't. I would never sit down to grant an interview to a newspaper whose owner spent millions of dollars trying to convince the American people that I was a drug dealer and a murderer. I'm not Hillary Clinton. |

I don't normally hold grudges, so I have room to make new ones. It depends though. I'm not really the political type. |

no, i wouldn't and it would probably cost me the election!
this is what mccain has done with the bushies and some others! |

Guardedly so, but yes. |

No... but, I wouldn't run for politcal office... because of stuff like this |
kcthedog |
Fudge yes! If I'm a fudging politician, I’m gonna kiss anybody’s ass to get elected and then screw them after I get in office! This is kind of a silly question this how it has been done for decades in the political arena, |
southernyankee |
Probably not. |

Yes I would be friendly , and really you have no choice at all running for political office with snakes all around you |
LJD |
No. |
Iseult |
Sure. |

That sounds like a waste of time. |

You would pretty much have to. While they may have been ugly to you in the past (and I'm thinking this is just name calling/rumor spreading, and not more serious offenses like murder o stealing or something), those will be the people you will be representing. They have just as much right to be honestly represented as anyone does. |

No, principles first |

It could go a few ways. It would depend on how I had reacted during the course of the organizations and their slandering.
It would depend on whether or not they were right. I will assume that I was good as gold and they were lying arrogant jackasses.
If I had ignored them, or gently snickered at their misappropriateness, or if I had fought them tooth and nail.
I think I understand the games that are played and if I was in politics I would probably not have any sense anyway. so if I was running for something, I could either look like I was weak and had to be phony smiling shaking those jackasses hands for political gain. Or I might have a little self respect and vocally, and publically announce that the nonsense in the past (which will come up in the future) is no longer valid, misunderstandings and things made right and what not and now am asking the jackasses to back me in an election.
I didn't answer the question, did I? maybe I do have a future in politics. |

I don't know. It's so unimaginable to me that I would ever run for political office that I can't say what I might do if I did. |
| Biggles | | posted 19-Apr-2008 2:39pm |
No, but then I can't see myself ever running for political office. |

Absolutely. If you have no interest in appealing to or working with people outside your core base, then you have no business being in politics. |
