Would you consider SC a "social networking" Website?

I've listed it as such before when asked in other surveys if there are social networking sites I'm registered with (along with MySpace). Why or why not?

No, you don't have networks of friends here.

No. It's a survey site. It's not set up for creating buddy networks.

Yes I would because people can find out a lot about their fellow SC'ers this way and get to know each other quite well, not only by the surveys but in Chat and by filling out their Users page info.

I sometimes think it might be nice to have friends lists here, then have some features where you could track your friends comments and such. But, I don't know...

No.

I am not really here to 'network' with people, like Facebook. I'm just here to answer surveys and hopefully interact with people, but I'm not trying to get anything out of it.

I don't know. It feels as thoughtwe are here for making surveys and we just stumbled upon social activity along the way.

do Not venture into the Darkside!!! yeah it's all 'cool' and glitzy and you'd get to wear black all the time, but...remember this way you'll get to dance in the Ewok Village...

Yes. Any kind of forum is for me a social networking site. I dislike going out in public so spent a lot of time on forums... there I can rant and give my usually off beat, and non-mainstream opinions and be as radical as I want to be. Sometimes I am agreed with, sometimes I am considered one of the tin hat crowd...

Networking would imply that you know or would be able to know the same people in real life, and that they would be good references in helping you to get a job/advance your career. Plus, there are certain things about a person that you can pick up on by spending just an hour of time with that person that takes months to figure out while spending time, online. Also, location is important. And as long as distance is a barrier, there's not much you can do in the way of networking.

Also, talking online has not been proven to be a good social tool. I have actually become more antisocial. Most of my friends are online. People can call it a social networking site. But it isn't real social networking, just a substitute.

Not really, because that's not the point of SC. It's too small, too. But I can see where you're coming from.

but...they live in/around trees!!! TREES, bill....
Besides you're like 4 feet taller than them anyways...can't you just look past them?

As long as you can hear past them, i say.. why not? Besides, you could always become a closet Ewok-etarian...

Curses, I meant to say "can't"... They must have used a Jedi mid trick on me!
Are you suggesting I eat Ewoks (and only Ewoks)?
I'm not sure if I could get past all the fur.

I've only ever heard of Jedi mind tricks...*shrug*
not only Ewoks to eat....was implying that maybe you can live and dance and do as the Ewoks do, but if one of 'em happens to...eh...dis-enchant you in any way shape or form....can simply pick one of 'em off.
even though i've always thought of them as a bit 'dirty', maybe they are the most succulent sweetest piece of meat you ever did eat! all that jub-jubbing ya' know...
