I don't think it was supposed to be either. First of all, who the hell wants to associate their sexual prowess with McDonald's? And second, what sort of reputation as lovers do the Scots even have? I think it's just supposed to sound like a cool, one-name sort of name. Mc is a common choice of prefix when you're making up a last name. |

I think to much Burger King and Mc Donalds are being mixed together in the wrong stew |

And of course there should be a Mc Burger Donalds and King Mc Donald ?? |

I just saw this movie (enjoyed it)... I think it's just a funny name and the writers weren't thinking McDonalds or Irish/Scottish per-se, just that it sounded funny, especially since Fogell was pretty nerdy. |

Not seen the movie but most likely McDonald's inspired. |

I think they probably just thought it sounded like a funny name. |

I have no idea, but if there was a 'McLovin' where I lived I'd eat there! Sounds like the menu would have chicken on it and I love 'chick in' or 'chick' all by itself, served open face on white bread with lots of gravy! |

I thought that whole Mclovin bit was the least funny part of the movie. |

Well I'm not sure where the producers got the name but the first thing it made me think about was McDonald's.
